No more Reserve Price on Ebay????

I listed a couple items yesterday and I noticed the whole selling format is much different. They don't give the option to set a reserve price? Am I blind? Anybody know? :dry:

I listed a car last week and had a reserve. Ebay is more of a pain in the ass than it used to be though......

You are right. They even default the shipping to their guesstimate. I shipped the same item last year, charged 25, cost me 40. So this year, they default the box size and weight to $25...I had to go in and change it to "fixed" shipping price and I put $40 in there.

Ebay motors...for a car, might be different since it's a big ticket item. I dunno, last night got me disgusted.

I would be shocked if they didn't have reserve anymore. They make a lot of money on people listing cars just to see what they could get and setting a sky high reserve price.

Still there even for regular listings;

It was just hiding from you! And yes, eBay has become very greedy. I used to sell quite a bit on there but now that is my last resort.

I only sell stuff on there for classic cars since I get bidders from all over the country and Canada but I also list and add in a handling fee to make up for the amount e-bay charges.

TooSlo86....wow...I see your screen shot, but that was not there last night or this morning. I tried revising the item...nothing. This sucks. I messaged Ebay, no response just yet.

I always got a kick out of items for sale where the heading stated "No reserve" but they set a minimum price.

Yea, and now they even take a cut of what you charge for shipping! So they're co. paypal gets a cut, listing fees, final value fees, shipping fees, reserve fees, in all you can take about 15% (give or take) right off what you think you made in the auction not counting supplies. This is on parts, not cars.

Intersting. I just real quick like set up like I was going to post a listing and it was there. Are you listing in motors or regular eBay? Are there bids on your item yet? If so you won't be able to revise a reserve into it either. You would probably be better off using the live chat if it is still an option through eBay. They have never been quick to respond via a message for me.

Looking here; http://pages.ebay.com/help/sell/revising_restrictions.html#auction you won't be able to revise it to include a reserve. And during my travels I stumbled upon yet another fee they implemented as of Oct. 1. If you end your auction early for whatever reason they will charge you a fee for that also, so it doesn't appear it will be as simple as ending it due to an error in the listing either :icon_roll

Just regular Ebay. Not Ebay Motors. They e-mailed me that I could list things free from Oct 2nd to the 6th. Adding a Buy It Now price was free also. Pics were free...everything free. Maybe that has something to do with it, but why give me a Buy It Now free...and not reserve.

And yes, you cannot change the Reserve once there are any bids of any amount. I think you can lower your Buy It Now tho. And yes...they take 10% of the selling price, they charge you to list it most times, and they take a percentage of the shipping. That is not right. I do shipping on my own. Ebay has nothing to do with shipment. Pay Pal takes I think 3% unless that has changed....which I understand. I like PAy Pal cause it's always worked out for me.
