No more free TV

For that converter box,
If I get more channels than 2, 4, 7, 9, and 28
I'll be happy.

Its a one time purchase, not like you are going to have to pay a cable/satellite bill every month

I've heard of them being as cheap as $20 at Walmart for a bare bones model.

Question: Now will the TV's with a digital comb filter built in still need a converter box or is that something different?

I made the choice about the car I drive. I didn't make the choice about whether television was going to continue to be free or not, the money grubbing pricks in gov't did. Vote the SOB's out, every one of them.

You also made a choice on what tv you buy, and aparently, you suck at buying tv's. Anyone with a 1/2 a brain knew this was coming for years. And if you still have a dino tv, time to upgrade, they are cheap.

Or get a converter box for $40

Which is what im doing...
I've had 1 of my TV's since Christmas of 95'.
It even has a kill switch on the front because the power on/off button broke.
Works great otherwise.

"Using a television without an appropriate licence is a criminal offence. Every day we catch an average of 1,200 people using a TV without a licence. There is no valid excuse for using a television and not having a TV Licence, but some people still try - sometimes with the most ridiculous stories ever heard. Our detection equipment will track down your TV. The fact that our enquiry officers are now so well equipped with the latest technology means that there is virtually no way to avoid detection."
