no lifter?

I finished it i just need to find out how to reset timing to the normal spot.
take out the #1 spark plug, stick your finger over the hole and turn it over until it pushes your finger off, thats the compression stroke, then you put the distributor back in pointing at the #1 spark plug, it should start from around there then you just set the timing right away. if it backfires its 180 degrees wrong

This shit cannot be real seriously Who puts you up to posting these threads...They are jokes right? I'm sorry but is it really that possible for someone to be this tarded-

wait you put the bent pushrod back in?
thats what i was wondering, same with the lifter...

sidenote* I was in a bind once and reused a bent pushrod in an old jeep 4.2. i hit it with a hammer until it was straight again, but it went another 14k miles and was still running fine when I gave away the motor.

Whoa whoa wait. I didnt put in the old pushrod and i replaced all the lifters. dont assume

make sure the lifters go back in the same spot they were in when you pulled them out if your reusing them

Yea, the cam or lifters didnt show any wear, but i replaced them just in case. Im pretty sure the problem was the bent push rod.

Something caused that pushrod to bend, Did you over rev the motor? miss a shift? or hit it with to much boost with out proper timing? Hell I'm no mechanic but I do know that something caused that and I would dig a little deeper than the bent pushrod...

it wont rev past 4k. Im not sure why just one of them would bend.

You already have the engine tore down pretty much, if it was me I would have it looked at by a pro and maybe even pull the cam & heads to check for valve train clearance. Hell a gasket set is $100 its worth it just to be safe.

You really need to find out WHY it bent a oushrod so it doesn't happen again. also it not reving over 4k sounds like it has some major issues get some help so you don't do major damage to the motor.

No i mean it can rev past 4k but i dont let it. like thats where it shifts at. sorry
