For some reason on my 289, i cant find the lifter for the #1 cylinder. Where do they go if they arent in the spot they are sopposed to be in?

I cant find the lifter. For some reason its not there. When i tried using the tool to grab it out, it wasnt picking it up. So then i flashed a light in to the pushrod channel and didnt see anything there.

was the pushrod there when you pulled it apart?

Yea it was fine untill i took out the push rod, then i tried to use the lifter pulling tool and then it disapeared.

Idk who roushtech50 is , im pretty sure he didnt build it.

No i didnt pull the intake, just the valve cover.

remove the intake manifold.

Ok. I unbolted all the manifold bolts and everything thats connected to it, but it still wont come off?

Nevermind, i pryed it off, and found the missing lifter. 2 quick questions.

What can cause a bent pushrod?
and
Can a bent pushrod cause lifter noise?

I put it all back together, but i had to take out the distributor when taking it apart, but i forgot to mark its position, how can i reset the timing?
