next project

I cannot decide on the porject for the summer, here are my two options

first is to build the talon tsi i already have in the driveway.

or I could sell that and do a 351 ranger and might blow it

any suggestions?
 
its a 2g awd auto, already replaced block once and might ahve to again possibly no time to see what is wrong with it right now. leaking oil kinda bad so feeling i might have alot of metal shaving everywhere.
 
no its coming from the new oil pump i installed, rushed some and it looks like it didnt seat properly. and I either bent a rod or something along those lines
 
Oh yeah, I vote finish the project you have. Then do a ranger.

BTW i ditched doing to tubular K and coil overs to do what i said i wanted to do for next season if you remember what that is.. and if u remember what the motor is you know its gunna be a turd for sure..
 
pm me some more info, I remember what size the motor is and shit. We need to goto tuffenuf's rsd event and make some coin.:spend:

to explain between oil leaking out first i must ask have you ever worked on a similar engine? then you would know that the oil pump is located on the outside of the block, just behind all the pulleys, and connects to the oil pan as well. Between the oil pan and the oil pump It might not have got sealed all the way when i put it back together. ( me being lazy and just took all the pulleys and wheel off and just installed it instead of pulling engine to do it). does that answer your question.

then to the ranger question, i use to wn a 93 single cab and I was going to do it to that but then the parents sold it, do I was thinking the same body style 93-97 i believe are the correct years. You can buy the little parts you need to do the V8 swap, and the 302 is only 100 pounds heavier than the stock 4 cyl. So i would either do the 351 or a 302 swap in it, jsut with the 351 you have to get block huggers for clearance issues or just cut some of the fender well (sp?)
 
forgot about the turbo 2.3 i was also looking into that, just did not find that many sources for it, or am not techinical enough for it, although it would be a badass setup. Wasn't there a guy on here that had one running in the low 13s? If i remember, it was the 92 and older style and was a reddish orange?
