Newb introduction

Wow!! I just now got to sit down at the computer and 3 pages.....whoa:seizure: Thanks all for the welcome!

Welcome!

Though I think I know you from somewhere else.

Whats up Arvin :wavey:

Welcome to Motown Muscle. Make sure your skin is thick as it gets rough in here from time to time, most times our bark is worse than the bite :D

Nice looking ride!

No worries there. I can take the flaming just as well as I can dish it out, although I try to avoid it all together. I tend to go by the "I'm being an asshole because you're being a moron" rule.

Welcome to the Madness!!!

Mods on the DSM???

Energy bushings
Eibach Sportlines and KYB AGXs
strut bar
17x8 Rial Nogaros w/225-45-17 Hankook Ventus RS-2s
modded rear UCAs for camber adjustment

Buschur Racing/Spearco core FMIC....black anodized
Turbo XS H34 bov
hard intake pipe and K&N filter
CNC ported 2g exh. mani.
CNC ported turbine housing(still stock 14b for now)
2.5" tubular O2 housing
VRS cat eliminator dp into a Thermal R&D catback....all 3" stainless
lower TB block-off plate(no IAC motor or FIAV anymore)
EGR/cruise/AC/emissions removed
slim fans
custom catch can set-up(working at a machine shop FTW!!!)
gauges/pedals/logger/turbo timer
Line-X'd the front bumper
Prothane motor mounts

I'm sure I'm forgetting some stuff. I've been DDing it for 3+ summers now and it's only left me hanging once.......because of a failed harmonic balancer that only had 3K on it. Not bad for DSM I suppose. Quick underhood pic...the IC piping has since been powdercoated.

BTW...your sig cracked me up because it reminds me of something a good friend always says..."sharing is caring.....only spelled different"

welcome to the site.
The dsm looks very clean. I think the turbobrick needs a gt35R. :D
past turbobrick owner here, 855T5

Nick

No...the brick needs an LS-1! Mmmmm Volvette!!

Nice car, i remember checking it at the Xceedspeed BBQ this year!

Seems like more and more exceeders are joining over here lately......

Welcome!!

>Chris.

All of them seeking to get away from some of the asshats and douche-canoes I'm sure.......and to find some better grammar and spelling too! Besides the fact that you can never have to many forums to whore on!

Welcome.

Wait a minute.... you have 3 daughters and you named your winter beater The Whorewagon? Might want to rethink that one for when they start driving and want to take Dad's car out for the night. ;)

LOL! I only call it that because it's been whored around 4-5 different Xceeders before I got it Nov 06. My daughters complain about both of my cars..."too hot, too loud, make you drive crazy, why do they all have to be turbos, blah blah blah". They like the wifes cushy Mariner. I plan on getting rid of it later this year anyways when the mom in law gives me her (gasp!!) minivan.

HAI SCOTTS!!!!!!

Welcome to the best site for Michigan car peoples.

What up Jason!

welcome! have you decided when you're buying a mustang yet? lol.:icon_wink

Meh....I gotta admit that I tend to lean more towards the bow-tie. Deep down inside I yearn for an FD RX-7 (love the lines of this car!) with an LS-1 swap.....maybe throw in some boost for safe measure.

Thanks again all for the warm fuzzy welcome.

Heyo Scott! I now know your brother in law Otto(sp?) too! Welcome to motown.

He mentioned how he knows your family from his job. We ended up figuring it out right after the SLC drag day last season. Zak had been in that day and had mentioned going to Milan later on and he knew I was going there too.

Have you been going there for your back problems? I hear that place is the bomb for physical therapy. Unfortunately they don't take my insurance, so I can't go there for my F'd up ribs :thumbsdow:

Otto is still driving your mom's old Volvo too.

The wife is already used to my "car dorking" as she likes to call it. "Blah blah vroom vroom" is what she usually says when she catches me thread whoring.

Ahh ok. Yep, going for my messed up back, this place is badass, I like it a lot more than MedSport(place that UofM athletes go to). You gonna be out cruising or to the track this year?

I'm gonna go to the Milan rental on the 28th to watch/shoot video......no racing for me till I get a better clutch. Are you going to bring the Mopar out and test the new setup?

I'm yet to make it out to WW.....family life and work owns me right now. The wife and kids are going away next weekend so I'll be out for sure one of the nights. There's a slight chance I may come out tomorrow night if I don't party like a rock star at a graduation party/boat races on Walled Lake.

I might make it out to watch on the 28th. Money is going to be a little tight that week, since I am supposed to go to the Tail of The Dragon the 20th-25th. We had the car out this last Wednesday and it went faster this year than last year. I can't wait for fall to get here so we can make some cool weather passes and see what she can really do!

What did it do?

I thought about going down to the Dragon that weekend since the wife and kids are going to Tennessee anyways, but the expense of the whole trip steered me away. I'm hoping to make it down there in the fall, but before the "color tours" start. My wife's aunt and uncle live about 80 miles from the Dragon (near Gatlinburg actually) and it gets crazy down there in the fall.

I'll keep an eye out for ya on the 28th.

Welcome!

Fabricator you say.... :mmm:

I've been known to machine a few things here and there!

A lil' sampling of some things I've fabbed/'machined......

Refinishing the lips on my wheels...they were rashed bad when I got them.

I don't have many pics right now, but I've done a ton of parts for the other boss' 42 Willys kit. I've done the alum. dash, hood hinges, nitrous plates, modded some drive by wire TBs into electric exhaust cutouts, blower pulley, and a bunch of other misc stuff.

Some other random fun stuff we work with for the balancing industry.

Nice work!!! How much would I have to bribe you with to make another one of those?

Originally, I was thinking I need some kind of shroud to put in front of my radiator to force more air through it. Any suggestions?

I think I need to talk my boss into doing a short production run of these! I've had tons of people inquire into getting one.

As far as the shroud, I would probably use some cardboard to make a template and then cut them out of .03-.06" aluminum sheet. I know a place in Livonia the does great sheet metal cutting/bending if you're interested. Here's what a lot of DSM guys do between their FMIC and radiator.....obviously this is still being mocked up.

Cool - I was thikning of doing something like that - just didn't know where to get the metal work done. :)

We get stuff like that done at Stuart Steel in Livonia....just off 8 Mile between Farmington and Merriman. If you took him cardboard templates he could do it.
