New Years Resolutions 2017: Who's making them?

I was kinda not feeling it this year, making a list of resolutions and all. I mean really, how many previous years lists get reviewed for "success rate"? Yet I sit here this morning drinking coffee thinking about the new year and my optimism is kicking in.
I've always had an admiration for people who get things done and I guess my biggest goal is to pattern my behavior after them. Sometimes it's as simple as "Just Do It", jumping in without fear of consequences. Forrest Gump style. Another admirable trait is being organized. Can you actually be too organized? I am not even close.
Here's' one....avoiding distraction. Breaks can be necessary but distractions can just burn away the time. I'm making a conscious effort to identify my biggest distractions and cut them in half. That's a start.
I keep hearing people lament that 2016 was "the Worst Year Ever". I don't know about that. Could be worse, a lot worse. I have big hopes for 2017. I'll be thinking about it a lot these next couple of days.

I still might make a list yet again. :) Happy New Year all!

Everyday I try to be a better person regardless of a resolution...

This yer I'm going to try and watch as many of the top 100 movies ever made. Black and white, silent, foreign and subtitled. I feel like a bum that I've never seen Raging Bull, Gone With The Wind, Nosferatu, and Citizen Kane... Just to many movies out there people consider classics.

Best of luck to you and your family in 2017 Dean. Can't wait until you guys finish up your house!

My one goal this year is to race in an NMCA or NMRA event......Never done it before and always wanted to.

That's a good one! So many great movies worth a look with fresh eyes. I started watching "Passion of the Christ" and had to stop half way. Man it's rough but I want to finish it. I also borrowed a copy of "Akira" to watch. Never seen that completely.

thanks Joe! You let me know when you are going to the show and I'll tag along and help out. Happy New Year.

Not one for resolutions, I just change things when I realize I want something different/better/etc. That's not really often I "feel a need" like that, so it's more like I come up with new ideas on how to change/better one thing or another and just get on with it. If that happens to start around the new year, so be it.

But whatever helps people do the same is cool - if the calendar makes things easier to do then by all means make a list and kick its ass.

My groan about resolutions is it seems to too often come down to those who talk a big game, relish the attention, and then do nothing or fail hard and quickly without care or continuing on. I think Master Yoda had something to say on the subject many years ago :p

Don't forget
Behind the green door
Debbie does Dallas
Deep Throat

That's a resolution. It's a way of life and a wonderful perspective to embrace.
There are little things I want to accomplish such as going to the gym X # of times per month, paying off a bill or two, and stuff like that but really on the whole I just want to be be patient and have good things to say about others and hopefully be the type of person my dogs think I am.

Mark I think you're the type of person your dogs think you are :)

I don't make resolutions. They just seem to be another way to disappoint myself. I don't need any help in that area.

Trying to bulk again! Started early at Thanksgiving at 167 pounds. Currently 175, shooting for 205 by May 1st!

If anyone is looking for a good thing they can do in the new year......

Last year I decided that when ever I got good customer service somewhere I would let that person's manager know. Wait staff, fast food, or just being at a store and getting help by an associate.

It personally made me feel good, to let someone know I can see they are trying and making an effort. After you do it a few times, it becomes second nature.

Good job!

-finish 1951 F1 (close to complete)
-finish 1969 Mustang (also close to complete)
