So I am thinking on starting a new project and want to get your guys thoughts. Starting off with my fairmont wagon and using a mustang I have as the doner car. This doner is a 302, aluminum heads, vortech, 6spd

So take this...

I would put an OD auto in it, but the rest looks PERFECT!!!! I love the idea

Slammin gears in a wagon.:) It will spill the milk when you get groceries! Get a cargo net, problem solved. Doooo it!

black on black drop top GT, why fuck with it? do something else with the wagon. The GT is perfect.

Do a mod motor in the wagon.

The gt isn't as nice as the picture shows. Rear quarters are messed up since the last owner has 325's on it and the body is a little wavy. Still not sure yet.

I think it would be a great project. Roll the rear 1/4's and do a mini tub on It and then you can get a shit load of tire under the car.It will ba a fun...fast...diffrent....cool car.

have a few questions before I start taking apart two good running cars. What is needed to marriage the two cars together.

Does the efi engine harness only needs a few wires to turn on?

How do I get the factory gauges working? Do I have to splice into the original harness to connect them?

Power to turn on the fuel pump, tap into the factory wiring, not sure on the tank yet, might just weld a sump to the factory fairmont tank.

What about a vacuum source? Do I need to pull everything off the mustang or just connect to the fairmont system?

Sorry, a lot of questions, just want to get some answers before I get in over my head!!

IMO the project is MORE than worth doing!! The result would be a really unique, versatile, family-friendly, sleeper.
Keep the 6 spd!! All the other stuff can be overcome. I'll bet you could lay the Fox cluster into your dash with reasonable effort.

Go for it!!
