Hi everybody, just signed up so I thought I'd take a minute to introduce myself. My name is Peter, and I live in Farmington Hills. I grew up in Wisconsin, but attended Michigan State (hence the username). I just got my bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering in May, and I've been working for Ford Transmission & Driveline Engineering in Livonia since June. I'm already an active member of the MSU Racing Club (I helped organize their car show this spring) and the Michigan F-Body Association (screen name alone_and_insane). My project car is a 1996 Camaro Z28 that I've owned since 2009. Here are some pics:

It has about 150k miles on it. Here's the mod list:

SLP CAI
smooth aluminum intake elbow
throttle body airfoil
Pacesetter longtube headers
Custom true dual exhause with Magnaflow x-pipe
Deleted cats, EGR, and AIR
Built 4L60E with LT1 Corvette TC
LS1 front brake conversion
Ebay drilled/slotted rotors
SLP bilstein shocks with Summit springs front, heater hose mod rear
UMI strut tower brace
Founders LCAs, relocation brackets, and adjustable PHB
OEwheelsLLC replica C6 Z06 wheels, 17x9.5 front 18x10.5 rear
Nitto NT05 tires, 275/40-17 front 295/35-18 rear

Unfortunately, the car's been out of commission most of the summer. I took the top end of the motor apart to do some work, and it's taken me a bit longer than anticipated...but I should have it running in the next couple of weeks. I figured I'd join up on the boards here so I can expand my network and resources, since I'm new to the area.

...which brings me to my first question: I need a little bit of exhaust work done. Can anybody recommend an exhaust shop in the Farmington/Novi area?

Clean 4th Gen. I'm an East Lansing native myself. Probably have seen your car around. I used to attend the MSU meets.

Welcome to Motown. By chance to you work with a guy named Mike Schlott? Good friend of mine that works in the R&D building @ Livonia Trans.

We have a bunch of great sponsors that might be able to help you. See link below

I've personally used Gautz and Diamond for two different projects and they were both great. Granted they aren't in the Novi/Farmington area, but they do great work.

What do you say to the Michigan State graduate standing on your doorstep?
Nothing. You just pay for the pizza.

I kid. I kid. Welcome to the club.

Welcome to the club. Working at Ford and driving a Chevy.... my kind of guy. My DD was a Mystic Teal '95 Z28 convertible when I started working down here at the Ford PDC.

I'll PM you the contact info for my exhaust guy in Walled Lake.

Welcome, from a fellow Spartan!

PRI does great exhaust work, if they're still open (it's been a while since I took my car there).

Thanks for all the compliments!

Actually, the car's only been in East Lansing a couple times. I have a '99 Pontiac Grand Am SE that's my daily driver, so that was always the car I had at school. The Camaro stayed home in Wisconsin.

Haven't met the guy. Although looking at his org chart, I might have crossed paths with him during this rotation without knowing it haha

Thanks for the PM! And yeah, I was actually always a GM fanboy growing up. I loved Camaros long before I had any connection with Ford. In fact.....one of my subtle exterior mods:
