I've been online the last few days researching a new CTS-V or Z06. If this promotion goes through, I'm rewarding myself. So what's the ups and downs to this car? I know it's a "V" and a Caddy, but inside information would be helpful.
My name is Jack... why? lol
welcome to the mad house! nice car you have there! Jax keeps us detailing guys in business with their 'ol scratch 'n' rinse car wash!
Yes. This is my last semester of undergrad. I start law school @ WSU in the fall.

Depends on what you ultimately want. CTS-V has 4 seats & 4 doors but set the record for a sedan on the nurburgring. It has a detuned version of the ZR1 engine making 556hp. There are a few other differences internally as well. BUt with the 4 seats you could take passengers on a joyride and still scare the crap out of them. They are 6spd auto or 6spd manual. I will say they drive great. I had the chance to flog one around a roadcourse and other than it being an auto, I had a blast. I would have preferred a manual better for some of the corners as it wasn't always in the right gear for me, but for the most part it did a great job selecting the proper gear.
Z06 is a 2 seater so only you and the wife. 505hp and all raw power. The suspension is tuned more for track use so on regular roads it can be considered slightly punishing for people that don't like the suspension that stiff. Personally it didn't bother me. They are light and powerful and definitely fun. And only available in a 6spd and only as a coupe.
Now if you want the looks of the Z06 but would prefer a few more creature comforts there is the Corvette Gran Sport. Which is basically a stock 430HP vette with the Z06 widebody, brakes & tires. So you get the look and some of the feel with a softer tuned suspension. And the Gran sport comes in coupe or convertible form.

Hey Jack, welcome
Glad to see you made it over here. (Talked to you on the V Forum) I went to Superior in Brighton to test fit my old ass in the 6 stick Racaro car they had. Too f-n tight for me. I really had wood for a V-wagon but now that's all gone to shit.
Plan B is maybe a SL65 or S65 AMG, V12tt, worse case an E63 AMG.
See ya round.
George
You could always try a V without Recaros... If I'm able to make it to one of the local meets you can try mine out, I don't have them.
I get my car washed at Jax at 15 & Orchard like everyday... n they actually do a great job detailing too, so I'll probly just go there
There's detailing and there's detailing ;-)
seeing the pics of the work you guys did on the Camaro made me think twice about going to Jax lol
