This is my second kimber and I have plenty of friends and family who have them. Never heard of any problems.

What was the issue with yours?
never had one issue with my pro carry. My dad's ultra carry has never had one issue, however his $2400 Nighthawk custom has been in the shop 4 times, all for major problems.
my mom carries a ultra carry also with no problems ever, and they go to the range weekly....
point is all guns can have issues, no matter if you spend $300 or $2000+
hell my dad wont carry his nighthawk now since he doesn't trust it, its just a paper weight now..

I go through ALOT of guns I've NEVER had one be this big of a pile right out of the box.. QC is non existent.
Like I said I only hope you have better luck!!! I had no idea about the reputation of the newer guns till I started to search problems

i agree your kimber isn't right at all. i've heard about failures with every brand 1911 out there. I even had several issues with my sig p220, i didnt trust it to carry it, so i got rid of it. However I know other people with over 6000 rounds through their p220 without a single issue.
i bought my pro carry II 2 months ago, shoot it very often , change springs on the recommended intervals and until I have an issue, im going to carry it everyday. Im sorry yours didn't work right:sad: i know i would of been super pissed if mine did that......

Ill be taking her out before sunday, I'll let you guys know how it goes. You got me nervous now. My pro carry HD II was flawless over a thousand rounds, I hope this one performs the same
Well at least if something happens you wont feel like the only one anymore right?

Dang man. There is no reason it should take 6 weeks to repair. I would definitely throw a fit for a new gun. I wouldn't want to use a "fixed" gun like that.

Shot the Kimber tonight 1st 100 rds no problems, took her home cleaned and lubed and back to the range Saturday for 200 more.
