oh I do have a 79-82 stock hood
General question...maybe you won't be willing to discuss...but I was just wondering if there is an aerodynamic advantage to having the curve of the cowl bow back towards the windshield instead of continuing up at a constant angle or leveling off?
Not a whole lot of work the front edgs has a return flange and the sides have a scribed cut line! How much prep work (trimming) involved to get the glass hood to fit right???
No we started from scratch, Joe's hood isn't as tall it only raises 5'' at the window, ours is 6'' above the carb area and tapers down to 4.5'' for field of vision.Look similar to Joe van o. You buy the molds from him?
It's not an aerodynamic thing, I was told by some people who have wind tunnel tested that the raised area on the hood will increase air speed over the top and when the hood is trimed back at the windshield there is a low pressure area created by the carb and air pan and you will get more clean/cool air into the engine from the increase in air speed.General question...maybe you won't be willing to discuss...but I was just wondering if there is an aerodynamic advantage to having the curve of the cowl bow back towards the windshield instead of continuing up at a constant angle or leveling off?
We are working on the SN95 now ChrisThats a sharp looking hood![]()
We are working on the SN95 now Chris
just don't show me any pictures of it and I should be okay!
Should be seeing you fairly soon if we keep working the hours we are working![]()
hmmm I might just have to buy one just to keep this teamZ theme I seem to have going on.
I'll shoot you an email when i'm close on those motor plates. Have to decide who is building my engine have to get a few details first. Head gasket thickness, and my primary header tube size. So when you put the headers on the mock up will be as close as possible. Less problems for me later that way![]()
