Although i hope they dont keep the front bumper that large.... :poke:

I'd rather have the euro-spec Focus still...

Be good competition between this and the next gen Aveo (if it hits reality)

Hatch looks great. Never liked the Focus sedans, no matter what model year. Nothing has changed this time around....

This is the new euro-spec Focus - it's a global car.

Not really. I don't see is getting 5-cylinders or turbocharged versions of the car.

It's a global car with at least 80% content shared across the globe.

80%, sure... The other 20% is the stuff we want (turbocharged 300hp hot hatchbacks!!!) ......

You're right. I was only thinking about the looks of it. The European ones were always nicer than the US ones. Now they will be the same or pretty close.

Wrong! The 20% is stuff like bumper supports, dashboards that have the steering wheel on the opposite side, flipped steering racks, trunks with different shaped license plate areas.

The current Focus RS wont be made into this model, and if it does, we will get it as well.

Global Platform doesn't mean everyone get's an RS model. Global Platform means the basic architecture is shared. Sure, 80% of the parts on an 03 Cobra are the same as the 03 GT... Doesn't mean the GT's came with the terminator motor ;)

right, but when the S197 came out in 2005, nobody got an 04 Terminator motor, but everyones GT got 3V's instead of 2V's, then a year later they came out with a SC'd 5.4 as an option...

That's my point. Just because a car shares 80% of it's architecture, doesn't mean every market gets the same packages ;)

Let's look at Honda's for example. In Japan Civic Type-R's were available with dual-cam B-series motors and different suspensions and transmission choices. Did we have them here in the US, even though the platform was a global one? :icon_lol:

Well, all I can say is that my info is better than your info...:finger:

You are correct that not every car on a platform gets the same stuff...you should know that if you wanted a euro-platform focus, weve been selling them here since 2003 in both mazda and volvo trim.

I can also say that you probably have less knowledge than me of what powertrains are going into each car...currently the only difference between this new focus in US and EUROPE is we dont get a diesel
