New F-150 drivetrains.....look out everyone

I'm really trying to talk my dad into one of these, since he thinks he has to drive a big 4wd truck year round because he has to tow with it twice a year. The rest of his driving is 90% highway, the ecoboost would be PERFECT for him. I just can't get him to switch brands from GM to Ford, lol.

If he drove one, it might change his mind

how much for the ecoboost on a beer can truck? (what is the lowest priced truck you can get with the ecoboost) i'm talking rwd, rc

Thats awesome, I hope the price will be reasonable for one of these with some decent options. That fuel mileage is close to what I get in my 4cyl Ranger.

Yea, there all sweet motors from Ford. I actually work at the Ford Romeo Engine plant so I know alot about the new 6.2 but I strongly question what Ford is saying about the ecoboost towing, well scratch that..what I I'm truly wondering about is the longevity of that motor. Your normal person might not realize it enough and buy it planing to haul every.weekend and get pissed when then burn it up. I come from the old days where the saying "there's no substitution for cubic inches" ruled

That is how it should have been from the start. I figured it would have more nuts than the 5.3 chevy, I wonder if the RAM will beat it 0-60. I couldn't read half the graphs, work cpu blocks them.

Here you go

Wow now I am even MORE pumped about this new truck!!!! Ford has done nothing lesss then impresed me with ALL of there models lately!!!! Thank you for your update, and comparison....I am not suprised at ALL Ford won! I knew when I heard about this Ecoboost idea years ago it was going to be a WINNER!!!.......What a great motor!

I had one dumbass sales guy try to tell me a Raptor only weighed 5100 lbs. I mean, come on...

Shipped weight was 5100, he must have used the information he was given. I bet he can't wait to get a RC F-150 with an Ecoboost and go Hemi hunting ;)

Oh and I was wrong about the engines that were in the non-Ford stuff. We had the same option engines as the autoblog report. My bad, I guess I should have written it down. I could have sworn they said it was the engines I posted, but I got it backwards. Oh well at least it gave the non-Ford guys hope for a little while

That's what I'm talking about. Too bad he'll have a long bed to haul around.

Sounds sweet. I'd love to get a new F150, I miss my new 2004 when I leased it. Sounds like they're already light years ahead of those 2004+ years

It's a tough engine and i bet will put up with higher than normal towing needs. Watch in the coming months as ford stats to stuff it into races in teh desert and other over abusive situations to prove it's durability...and i'm not even a Ford fanatic! (I drive a GMC HD)

There was also another "torture test" just filmed down at Miami Holmstead.... Ecoboost F150 @ max tow rating, running at WOT for a 24-hour period. That should be ready for viewing soon, and will shut up all the haters about extended towing "burning" up these turbo engines.
