Installed my 8000k Hid conversion in the silverado last night. Holy cow what a difference the added visibility is great and id have to say they do look pretty sweet too.

8000K is pretty far outside of the "nominal" range for the most useable light. I believe 4600K is right around the hottest you can get before you start down the "useable light curve". Oh well, I'm sure they still do better than halogens, and probably look pretty blue/purple as well.
 
I have 6000k on my car. Not as blue. And I did angle mine down a bit. Just have a friend evaluate it when you do a drive by to make sure you're not blinding oncoming drivers too much. Don't want to cause a problem where they swerve into you because they can't see.

Looks good though! I love how much more light I get with mine than the stock bulbs.

They are definitly on the blue side but not extremely. They were exactly what I was looking for as far as color and definitly a large increase in visibility.

Yeah visibility is great! They already helped me last night saw a few deer in the road a few hundred feet before I would of been able too before.
 
i always loved how far off I could see signson the highway with my HID's. you can damn near read the exit signs a mile away
 
I have the 6000k on my 95 Chevy truck and love them. They've saved me from at least a dozen deer accidents since i installed them 2 years ago. As mentioned make sure you aim them down. I pulled up behind a cop with mine when i first got them and he wasn't happy. I pulled into a gas station and he followed and told me to do something with those lights before i cause an accident.
