The Caprice and SS have different front and rear fascias. From the front, the Caprice looks like a G8 with Chevy badges and trim...and near identical out back. Other than that, theyre pretty much the same car.

Isn't the caprice a different car. It's already called the caprice in Australia. It's an extended wheelbase commodore/g8. You can tell because the trunks are bigger

The Caprice/G8 is based on the previous-generation Holden Commodore. The SS is based on the new-generation one.

I heard this was the new Impala?

AFAIK, the SS is the long wheelbase Caprice, not the shorter wheelbase of the Commodore/G8. Most of it is in the rear door, the rear legroom is pretty substantial.

Looks decent. Wonder how much it'll be? If its over $40k I think it'll flop.

Kind of like the SHO? Not sure on the sales numbers of those, but I see them quite often. I know it's a different vehicle, but people buy the SHO because they're faster than an SEL with AWD. Look at the response the G8 GT's had, people wanted a sedan with power. I think it will sell.

Thats not true. The SS is actually shorter than the G8GXP

I agree. I like the SHO but it's tapped out even with a tune. This car with the LS3 is way more open ended for mods I would guess. And who doesn't want to mod stuff? The future still seems bright.

I never said anything about the size...people were saying that it was the same as a G8, and my point is that it's not. The G8 was based on the VE Commodore sedan. The SS is based on the new VF Commodore, which was first revealed about a week ago. They haven't released details about the mechanicals, so it's probably very similar, but it's not exactly the same thing as a G8 like people have been saying.

so....tax payers bail out GM, so GM builds a badass car for Americans, but dont use American workers? and its Imported....LOL. Im sure that will go over well.
