New charger scat pack. Is there a better optoin at the same price point?

Scat base price is $40K? 5.0?? Base price is $33k.. if i found one for that, i'd have 7k for boost... I like the 5.0 looks a lot more. The Challenger doesnt look right to me, the side of the car is to tall. Even if you lower it, the doors look too tall.

I dont buy new so my opinion is probably different, a lot of people seem to buy new and enjoy "stockness.."

Denny, I think he was talking about a similar car.

Car is a blast to drive. There are several of them with spray and they run 10s all day long with a tire and 150 shot.

Pretty sure GM just announced 15% off new '15's still on the lot for the Chevy SS. If all goes well I'll be picking one up this weekend.

A comparison test between the two from a couple years ago barely favored the SS over all and since then the Scat Pack got a power bump and the 8 speed. I can't imagine that given the Sat Pack improvements it wouldn't legitimately win a magazine test now. And even then the straight line performance and fuel economy both favored the Scat Pack. Not that the SS is really intended to be a high volume car but the mere existence of the Scat Pack at the price point is at certainly keeps sales of the SS back.

Even if you want the better handling car I would have trouble over looking the other Scat Pack advantages including price and buying an SS. Scat Pack seems like a no brainer if you are looking to spend $40-50k on a performance sedan.

I dig the SS, very cool. I was a little surprised you could get them with a manual trans. There haven't been many manual trans RWD sedans in a long time aside from the G8 GXP.

I forgot about the SS manual. If there were enough incentives that might tip me the SS direction. Surprised to see that about 20% of the SSes built are manuals too.

Manual transmission started in '15, along with mag. suspension and rear Brembo brakes (all standard) compared to a '14. 2015 - 2016 mechanically are the same, but the '16 got different wheels and a slightly revised from bumper.

~$7,500 off, plus any other incentives/rebates out there, plus an employee certificate (depending on your level) and 0% through GMF right now.

I was looking at dealer inventory a couple of weeks back and there were no manual cars on any lots around me, but you could build and configure your own on the website. I'd venture to guess a manual SS will be a rare beast for sure.

Out of curiosity I just checked, and there's one new 2015 with a manual trans in the US. If anyone feels like a trip out to Tucson, AZ it's yours! There are a ton of '16 models with a manual, though. Almost every dealership has at least one it seems like.

I know there are a couple of used '15's with a manual. I've seen them from $38,999 to $44,000.

About 628 manual 2015s and so far there are about 296 manual 16's. 2016 manual builds are actually running at like 30% right now. The total numbers are good but the early builds in the system those numbers come from show them on the previous model year even though they were built with VINs for the next model year. IE, it shows some of the 15s as 14s because they were early builds but really are 15s. There were probably 16s that show in the 15 quantity but in that situation it isn't obvious what is what anymore.

The 15% is totally not showing on GM family first right now. It just shows $500 off of 15s.

Yeah, I saw that too. I had a dealer email me this morning because he knew I was looking. Quoted below:

Ryan just a heads up. I have a 2015 SS new leftover in stock. They just announced 15 % off starting the month of April. That is right at 7500 off a new one. It is on my web site. Thanks I just thought I would let you know.

Maybe something kicked in today and it just hasn't hit yet. Seems odd, but also wouldn't surprise me.
