New car buying ideas

My Charger lease is up in 6 months and I am starting to look already and need some ideas. I really wanted a '15 Charger RT AWD, but since they aren't making those anymore, I don't know what to get.

What would be some suggestions? These are some of my search preferences:
-AWD preferred, but open to 4wd.
-V8, but open to suggestions.
-Car, but open to SUV/truck.
-Sporty
-No soccer mom vans. I'm single and won't be having any kids.
-Always driven one the the Big 3 brands my whole life.

Looking for my lease or buy payment to be around the $300 mark, can put down around $2500 if necessary. Ideas?

Lease another 2014 AWD. They got some real good deals going on right now. I'm picking one up on Thursday. I don't care for the new 2015 redesign either.

Good luck on the $300 a month, unless you are leasing. If you are looking for anything 'cool' to drive then the payment is going to be much higher then that with $2500 down. Leasing is a waste of money IMO, its money that you will never see back.

With that said I think you can lease a Hemi Ram for pretty cheap.

Nothing wrong with leasing. My view on it is get a nicer car for less payment than buying crappier new one. I also think it's funny when someone tries to justify me out of a Diesel engine in a truck, buy showing me the break even point to decide if it's worth it or not. As soon as I flat foot it and it moves out.... it's worth it at that moment.

Ever sell a car for more than you bought it for new?

Yeah but do you realize that when you turn that lease in you have nothing to show for the 5k+ you've forked over? Not to mention your typical 12k mile a year limit. You basically can't customize the vehicle, and if you decide to end your lease and not lease another you get fees. No thanks

This is why I will only buy a used car/truck.

Study after study shows that a used car is much
more affordable and a better value than a new one.

I agree, normally a brand new car loses a lot of value,
hence I don’t waste my money on a new car.

Working at a dealership, I constantly see people who are thousands of dollars upside down in a car they bought, and usually end up rolling that into the next car which pushes your payment even higher. I always lease because I get a nice, new car for a cheaper payment that is always under warranty, I'm the only person who has ever owned & maintained it and I get a new car every 3 years with very little money out of pocket. I am on my 4th lease and have never had any lease turn in issues, mileage penalties or anything rolled in.

I guess the title is misleading. I meant a lease. I'm not buying another vehicle outright anytime soon. I own my Mustang and the second vehicle is my "no-hassle" vehicle. The only maintenance I want to worry about is changing the oil.

Well said. I typically buy well maintained beaters. Spend a couple grand and drive it. It's just meant to go back and forth to work and run errands. My land yacht Caprice has served me well over the last 3 years. $40 per month for insurance, $100 for gas every month, and maybe $1000 this whole time on regular wear and tear items. Much can be said for a car you don't give a damn about. Somebody whack it with a shopping cart? Big deal. Stone chips? Bring em! All of that said, leasing can be an attractive option for somebody who must have a new car every so often. Nothing wrong with it if you want to spend the money.

Amen, My 2,000 truck that Ive had for over a year is still worth 2k and next year will still be worth 2k, yes its not the brand new fancy 4door leather interior truck but its the truck that everybody borrows when they dont wanna scratch their cadillac with a bed

So any lease ideas? So far only thing mentioned was a Hemi truck.

I think it's going to depend on what the lease deals are when your current lease is up. Sometimes the Rams are a super cheap lease, sometimes they arent. Once in a while a 300c would lease out cheaper than a regular 300. If I were you, I would just narrow it down to 3 cars that you would be ok with driving then once you are ready to pull the trigger, go with the cheapest lease. You just have to start watching prices about 3 months before your lease is up because if they come out with some awesome lease deal on a car you want, you may be able to get the dealership to pay off your last 2 payments and get out a little early and still have a great payment on a car.

Nothing funnier than a person buying a new truck to be used as a car

I can't comprehend paying this kind of $ for any vehicle, let alone an SUV that'll be a piece of shit in 10 years.
