Anyone have a connection or a go-to place for appliances?

We close on our house in 3.5 weeks and we are looking at appliances now. We think we have everything picked out. We need fridge, cooktop, oven/microwave, dishwasher, washer & dryer. Sargent Appliance seems to have the best prices right now, but I want to make sure we're not missing out on another place.

TIA

Take quotes to different places and see if they can beat them... That's what I did with mine...

P.S. STAY THE FUCK AWAY FROM KITCHEN AID APPLIANCES!!!!!!!

uh oh.. Kitchenaid is what we have picked out right now.. What were your issues?

Depending on how serious about cooking you are, grab a gas stove. They really crank the BTUs necessary to sear various meats, stir fry with a wok, or anything else that requires high heat. As an added benefit, they work when the power goes out.

we are definitely getting a gas cook top

Home Depot and Lowes honor online coupons in-store, so you can use that to your advantage. You can also save quite a bit on floor models. I did that with my stove (GE) and fridge (Whirlpool) and ended up saving ~$500 between both using a combination of coupon codes and talking them down on the floor models. I talked them down $150 on my fridge and $100 on the stove. It may take multiple tries. The first time I went in, the person working the appliance area said they didn't discount floor models. The next day I went in and somebody else was working. I asked him and he was able to give me a nice discount.

I got an awesome deal on my washer/dryer at the Sears scratch & dent outlet. Half off MSRP for them and I didn't mind a few marks on them. The dent in the front of the washer actually popped out in the store when I was checking it out. I was like "I'll take it"! Got the washer in Bloomfield and the matching dryer at the Livonia location.

If you use that cooktop you not going to like cleaning it. Get something that has some type of finish around the burners, cleaning stainless sucks...

If you catch Sears during one of there sales there are some good deals. Presidents day is coming up on the 16th. Go to Sears a couple days before and use the tablets by appliances to search for items. You have to enter your email address, when I did this I was sent some very good coupons plus the sale price.

If you want higher end items check out http://www.witbeckappliance.com/ on Orchard Lake and Maple. They sell Viking, Wolf, Thermador, Jenn-Air they have decent sales and sell floor models at a good discount. They sell Kitchen Aid too...

Bar Keepers Friend will do the trick I think..
Viking, Wolf, etc is out of our price range right now.. Especially with remodeling the whole kitchen & master bath in the process.

I use Sprayaway glass cleaner on my stove, gets all the gunk off better than any other cleaner I've tried. The bulk stores (Sams and Costco) sell a 4 pack of cans for $8, the cheapest I've seen by far. Most places charge $5 per can. My stove is black, so it shows every smudge and whatnot if it isn't clean.
