New 96/275 construction nightmare

It's going to blow. I just hope everyone picks one of the options to get it done and over with in one summer rather than drag it out

Well, which one is the "lesser of 3 evils"....
....which one are you guys going to vote for?

The problem is in this area there isn't another "quick" way that isn't already flooded with traffic that runs parallel to 275. You've also got M14/96 merging to/from Ann Arbor and the lanes reducing from 5 to 3 all in the same area.. It's gonna be a hot mess regardless.

#1. Do whatever it takes to limit it to one season. And everyone looking for detours, please stay west of Merriman and north of I96.

Is that road that fucked up? I don't usually go over there, but I'm just thinking maybe they add another 347 cops pulling people over right there and traffic will be so slow the road surface won't matter.

Drove home through Ohio last night. For all the whining we do here, they are even worse. Virtually the entire state worth of I-75 was a fucking disaster of barrels and barriers, which when combined with their irrationally freaked out left-lane slow ass drivers made for a great drive. Have their bridges and interchanges ever not been completely torn apart?

The highway doesnt appear to be bad but I heard it was something wrong with mixture of the concrete. My drive to and from work next year is going to suck big time.

I'll vote for whatever it takes to get it done as quickly as possible. When 96 was closed a year or two ago we managed to get through it.

I don't go down 275 much but the wife's ride from Farmington Hills to Westland is going to suuuuuuck.

I vote number one, and pray it doesnt turn out like 96 where the residents voted for 1 season shutdown then bitched about the noise at night

yeh atleast the lesser of all nightmares option 1 seems the best. Out of all the roads out there this section of freeway don't seem that bad, like said before couldnt this money be better used elsewhere ?

I remember when they redid 275 from 96/14 to 6 mile. The people bitched because the concrete was louder than the asphalt they replaced. I don't know, if you don't like the sound of a fucking expressway, DON'T LIVE NEAR ONE! I live roughly 1/2-3/4 of a mile from M-14 and I can barely hear it on a quiet night if the windows are open. I do have some woods and other homes to block some of the sound but I knew it when I bought the house. Same goes for the people that live near the airport or for fuck sakes Milan Dragway. You knew there was a drag strip close, did you think it was quiet? Did you think you could turn down the volume? Look at Pomona, they were in the middle of nowhere and now they have strict times they can run and get fined if they go late. It's a fucking joke. Take some personal responsibility at where YOU purchase a fucking house! Think assholes................sorry I get pissed about this shit.

You are correct. They used slag aggregate in the concrete originally and when it starts to fail it goes to shit very quickly. Being this is such a heavily traveled corridor they are fixing the issue before the road is in very poor shape.
