Need some Divorce Advice for a friend.

That is true. Reading the original post made me think how someone could spin my details if things go ugly. I am the sole provider (financially) I budget conservatively and pay all of the bills. My bank account is larger due to direct deposit. We have a joint savings which feeds her acct each month. Someone might spin that to the "holding money from her"
but there are many other things that were posted, the bride, hiding cash, defaulting on the house and car etc.
Either way, its shitty. divorces are dirty.
When I was stationed in North Carolina, if you wanted a divorce you had to be legally separated for 9 months (maybe a year) before filing. It was a shitshow for the people who were trying to file. They had to move out and maintain the payments for both lives...

You don't ask for a divorce you sue for divorce. She should have started with an attorney two years ago.
Typically by the time the woman asks for a divorce she has already spent months squirreling away funds and ironing out her exit strategy.
Shitty situation all the way around though.

I know there is to sides of the story, but her daughter also worked for me and told me stories of her dad, and Ive almost had to kick him out of my store once when he came to visit her.
They had a house that backed up to woods and they used to go for walks. He used to joke to the kids about killing her and laughing, then times of making the finger gun and pointing it at her.

Lol... Even worse, Highschool sweethearts married young, had kids young, then he changed.
She said when they were brokefor the first 10 years things were great. He started making more money and things went down hill.

That sucks. That's what happens when some people get married out of high school. You end up missing out on being independent and having experiences as a single adult. Then when you hit your 30s and 40s you want to go out and hit the bar scene as if your 21. Recipe for disaster.
