need some carb advise

Ok, Right now I'm running an 800cfm mech secondaries Holley. It appears to work pretty good. But I see different carb manufactures advertising that there carbs will give me so much more HP than my Holley will. (Proform, Quickfuel, AED, Willys, etc.) Is this true? Anybody have much experience between the brands?

That's part of the reason I'm looking for the change. I'd like to swap over to a 750, and looking to see if there is an advantage to running one of these other brand carbs, vs a smaller holley.
 
ive never bolted anything to my motor that made more of a difference then a carb. they can be worth big power wth the right carb. ive seen 10mph just changing carbs before at the drag strip.
 
I realize that I can do the motor some good with a smaller cfm carb, 750, maybe even a 650cfm. Thats not what I'm questioning. If you had your choice, what brand is worth the money, and what brand would you run? Quickfuel, Proform, Demon, Holley, etc? And why?

call pro systems and see what they say or even quickfuel. they will know more than what youll find out on this site. dont listen to guys at holley cause they will give you some formula and thats bs, listen to people who actually know what they are talking about, patrick james is a cool guy and you can even email him question and he will answer them for you.

ya i no

well we were trying to start my boys motor and i had both my carbs over there and my proform was leaking gas so i put my 750 on it then the timming was off so it made a flame so i grabed a rag that some one wiped up gas with to put out the fire on the carb on the motor and it caught fire so i threw it and it landed on my proform that was on the ground then the carb cought fire then some one shot it with the fire ex. so i think it needs to get looked at lol
