I think I would be better off owning one tired of renting them and it's getting harder to find rentals....

Fuck those gas ones just get a Manual auger style one from tractor supply. The gas ones even with 2 ppl on it u have to clean the hole out anyway. Plus they kill your upper body when u hit clay an it gets stuck. I rented one when I did my privacy fence did 6 holes an all fucked up. So i borrowed a Manual auger style and took me 15-20 min a hole to go 4' down and it was straight an not full of shit after.

I agree man, manual auger style worked out better for us and we ended up using that.
Hit a lot of very thick roots when we put in a fence last year. Just took the sawzall to the roots to cut out what was in the way.
The manual auger worked very fast. Not sure I'd use it if I had to do like 30 posts.

i used the non-auger manual style a few years ago. after about 20 holes, my wrists and hands were numb for a week. i thought i had carpal tunnel......
