Hi I have a 92 mustang gt. I have tried to adjust the tps but I don't know how to use the dvom. Will someone please come help me out I live in warren.

You have interweb don't you?

What are you trying to accomplish by "adjusting the TPS"???

X2.

Pull the codes. If your not getting a TPS code, it probably ok. Especially if its in an OEM TB. The tps doesn't need to be "set".

check the voltage and make sure its in spec. Then do a TB sweep and make sure it has a linnear voltage reading throughout the range of opening the TB.

IF, your replacing the TB with an aftermarket one; you might need to verify that it reads under 1.0 V (or whatever spec is). BUT in reality the ECM zero's the tps voltage at startup; so .6 to 1.1 is fine.

www.fordfuelinjection.com is a big help. and there are a million posts on the corral about TPS. But basically it doesn't offer any performance advantages trying to adjust it.

According to all the magazine write ups and common belief is to tap the black with the ground and the green wire from tps with the pos from the voltmeter... then set it to .99

You may have to pull the tps off and enlongate the wholes to get it to adjust to desired specs.

I usually only do this is I'm totally bored.

The motor in the car is new. The throttle body is a 70 mm bbk so I had to put my tps on it. That is why I have to adjust it it's not the stock throttle body. I know how to adjust it I just did not know how to use the dvom but a guy on corral showed me how to use it so I'm good now. Thanks for help and info guy I really appreciate it.

positive wire of volmeter to green wire on tps, ground or (common) to ground on vehicle (anything that is grounded....koeo (key on engine off) adjust to .98 to .99 volts throttle closed
