I have a 95 mustang gt with the 302. this car runs terrible until it warms up, it spits and spuders like its dumping a ton of gas, the other problem is sometimes it doesnt want to heat up, i had a 180 thermostat in it, and went back to a 195, when it does warm up, it runs great.

Car has 180,000 miles, headers, xpipe without cats, underdrive pulleys, smog pump delete, cold air intake,

i guess ill take a stab at this.......are you burning oil? did it just start doing this out of the blue one day? are u burning coolant?, check engine light on?

not burning oil or coolant, car runs great when its not spudering, I had a 180 thermostat in it, then went back to 195, this fixed the problem for a little while, now its back to running terrible, I dont think the car should run this bad just changing the stat to a 180, I checked codes and it is saying 02 sensors and i know if the 02 sensor is working right it would cause the car to run like crap

do you see any smoke from the tail pipes? black, blue, white? if so is it alot? pull ur dipstick and smell the oil..smell for gas and look at the color.

Does it initially run decent for a little before acting up or instantly run poorly? If at an idle does it go from running poorly to a raise in rpm then it seems all good after that like a switch was flipped? Long tubes or shorties? Stock maf/injectors? When you say it's saying 02's is it 41/91 codes you are getting?

It has shorties, other then cold air intake, everything is stock, I was checking for codes and there are none, it does run good when you first start it, then takes a crap, if you take it out and drive it easy it spits and spuders, if you stab it, it clears up and runs good, i do get a check engine light, but it wont stay on

i spray break clean with the engine running....if you hear it idle up or smooth out where u just sprayed theres ur leak.

try spraying all ur vacume conections also? there are some under the manifold even where it hangs over on the driver-side if its stock intake. i wanna say ur best bet will be to find someone with a scanner though. ur car being 95 is obd2 which means a scanner can tap in and look at all sensors and see the readings.....check the map too. make sure all piping on ur cold air intake is tight too, if air is comming in past the mass air. id even pop the iac off and see if its dirty. its hard to diagnose without a car in front of you but these are the things id be looking at first. the scanner will be ur best option.

I thought you said it was saying 02's when you checked codes???? If you initially had o2 codes there is a reason for that. Next time you start it have a stop-watch or a watch with a second hand and note how long it runs smooth when you start it, then how long it runs rough before smoothing out just sitting at an idle. Something else to try. While going down the road turn the ignition off for a few seconds and restart the car while still going down the road. Does it run good for about 60 seconds then goes through about 60 seconds of popping and sputtering all over again? On the sputtering, is it popping through the intake? My guess is at normal throttle it's popping but if you get near 1/2 to 3/4 it completely clears up right? Once it's warm it doesn't do it at all right?

What you guys are pointing at with vac leaks is something I chased for years thinking that's what it was. Not the case on mine though. I think he's either got a couple bad o2s or bad ground or circuitry in the 02's logic and or wiring. What will tell all is if it repeats the 60 seconds/60 seconds if there is the same delay on the sn95 hego programming as an a9l. I'll have to pull up a CBAZA tune and check it out later.

I had the 02 code because i had the 02s unhooked, stupid me, when i pluged them back in the code went away, when i run the actron scanner im getting no codes. when i say it runs bad, i mean, it will start and idle good, put it in gear, let out the clutch, and it will start to move, and then when you start to get it going, it wil spit and spuder, out the exhaust and intake, give it more gas and it keeps going running ragged, then u stand on it and it clears up, shift gear and drive it easy, same thing, stand on it and it clears up.

Had car out today, when it acts up, if I shut the car off when driving for a few seconds and then turn it back on the problem goes.away for a.few minutes then returns , and half the time it didn't act up at all
