Need Help?? Track question?

O.k., now that my husband is drag racing too, I have to start going up to the starting line myself. I am really confused and need some help.

Saturday at the NO ET race was my first time running in the left lane (which I hated) but will get used to it. Anyway, my question is:

Who exits the track first on the top end? If it's the person who gets there first, what if the right lane person doesn't slow down enough before the left lane turns off??

My issue was when I took the left lane, I raced Todd and at the end I couldn't see him when I got to the first turn off and just stopped and waited?? That seemed stupid!

How does it work at the top end?? I've always been in the right lane and when I have raced other people which hasn't been often, I have always gotten there first and just turned off.

Can you guys help me with this please? I don't want to be the only idiot that causes some huge accident because I don't know how to get off the damn track at the end? :emb: Thanks!
 
just go to the end if your not sure, but they should be stopped enough at that point to make the turn at the first exit. if you cant see them in the mirror then wait but i look in the mirror to see if they are close to me then turn wiht them, never go in there lane until your ready to turn though

Thanks John! and everyone else for the help.. Another stupid question?? Can you both turn off at the same time? Also, is there another turn off after the big wide one? I only saw sand and tires back there??

I guess I should really take note on whats at the end....:headscrat
 
Take a walk or a ride down there and give it a look. Watch a few passes and see how it goes.

I never had to worry about it since I always had the slower car. :lol:
 
If im in the left lane i would never cross over the right lane and turn off unless i ran solo or the left lane car broke. Like previously stated, the other car could have a throttle stuck open or a brake failure. At a high rate of speed a car that looks far away will get to you before you know it! I always wait patiently. My $.02
 
I ALWAYS yield to the car in the inner lane......like Larry said you never know if he is going to be able to stop and could t-bone you when you cross his lane.

yes right at the end of the pavement there is another turn around. and both can turn off at the big one, just better to not do it i guess. if you want to slow down to let them go first its up to you.
 
Agreed Left lane yeilds to the right lane @ Milan...I have ran Dragsters that sat and waited for me too turn off because i was in the right lane , guy could have ben back and having a beer but he waited ...always better to wait . I also go to the last turn off if I am in the left lane and the other car is next to me or even close ..again saftey first
