The TV is reading that something is plugged into the HDMI port because my TV wont read anything when I unplug the HDMI port. When I plug it back in though it just says no signal. I have tried resetting it and holding the power button on the PS3 but would anyone knows whats the culprit?

I am at the screen where the HDMI is plugged into and I have tried changing HDMI ports and rotating through with the input button and still nothing. Its just a NO SIGNAL on the tv and when I unplug the HDMI cord I get a PLESE CHECK CABLE.

I just bought had a different LCD HDTV and it worked fine with the same set up.

Its a Samsung 330A LCD HDTV.

Friend had the same problem he was using a very low grade HDMI cable, he got a rocketfish one from best buy and everything worked fine!

Funny you should say that. Thats the same brand I have...damn thing cost 60 bucks but my girlfriend got it for 7 dollars (works at best buy..lol). The set up was doing just fine with the other LCD HDTV I had and now it wont work on this one. I am totally stumped.

my bro has the same problem, i still cant get it to work for him. ive tried the reset deal with only the hdmi plugged in and held the power button (wait for 2 quick beeps) still nothing. heres a idea..... take your ps3 plug it into a another tv with hdmi, reset, save the 1080p setting (screen might be black for that tv but just remember what the screen menu is so u can blindly accept the setting ) or set it at 1080i / 720p so u can see what your doing then turn it off, and take it to your new tv plug everything in (hdmi only) and turn it on. see what happens it might show you a picture then u can change it but now atleast the tv might SEE the hdmi signal. (the hole point to this is to get the ps3 to send a hdmi signal to the new tv by u doing it manually vs using the ps3's automatic detection) let me know if it works.

oh my bros using a $120 hdmi cable.....if the above works forget the rep just help me out we that discount...........COD4 Online FTW

O ok. Yeah maybe I just might need a better one. I'm just wondering why would the other set up work and it was a HDTV with the same cable and everything and this one doesnt...it amazes me.

I'm in Kalamazoo so the discount on some stuff would be ok but you would have to come and get it...lol.

I set it at 720 pixels for the old tv and this one is also a 720/1080i just like the old one.

no what i was saying about the cable was he has a $120 cable and it still didnt work but i have not tried it the way i told u above. i just came up with the idea

k so did u set at 720p on the old one first and then move the ps3 to the new one without reseting the system?

I set it up on the old one. Decided I didnt like the brand of tv to much. saved the settings. turned it off. Took the tv back and now its on the new one which is basically the same as the old one except its a samsung.

anyone else possibly have any ideas? I ordered a new HDMI cable to see if that is gonna be it..

If not like TSR was saying it could be trying to put out a higher resolution then what the tv can support, try it threw composite (yellow/red/white) just to make sure the ps3 is out putting video signal. Also lower the resolution to 480i (by trying to do so on another tv) and try different hdmi inputs on the tv - if none of that works could be a problem with the tv.

Yeah well I did just try it through composite and adjust the settings a lil. the resolution was on 480i already when I went through setting and when I switched to HDMI the screen blacked out for 20 seconds or so and just popped back on??? I tried switching the tv to hdmi but the game was still on av? its all confusing for me.
