Need help! Ford dealer refuses to fix my dads 2013 Ford Focus!

It maybe a long shot but I need help from someone on here that either works for Ford or deals with them. My dad bought a '13 Ford Focus brand new from Crest Ford in Centerline. Few months after he started having issues with his trans. From what I was told it's the clutch in that trans that is junk and under recall or something. The car has been at the dealer for the same issues for so many times I have lost count. The clutch has been replaced, new software been flashed. This past week and half alone the car has been at the dealer two times and today being third. Finally Crest Ford told my dad today that they will not take the car because they can't fix it and said to call Ford. I been calling Ford for months now but no one seems to care or don't know what to do. I was told the regional manger would be calling me back but calls just go answered. It has been very frustrating for my pop as the car is basically undriveable. The whole experience has been very frustrating and I refuse to go Crest Ford anymore as I might leave in handcuffs. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thx Martin

I haven't met a person who hasn't had this same issue.

My cousin put up such a fit that Ford took her Focus back.

I'll see if I can dig up a contact at Ford who may be able to help you. I will text a friend of mine now.

Looking thru the paperwork they replaced the clutch when it was there three weeks ago. According to my old man he waited a month and half for that part. I'm assuming its the updated one but who knows and even if it is its doing the same thing all over again.

Take it to another dealer, you aren't tied to the one you bought it from.

Second contact a lemon law/vehicle lawyer and sue for loss of value/time. We did for our Fiesta and it was well worth it. Although still waiting on the trans to be redone again. I've had 3 clutches, an oil cooler and a few other odds and ends put in. Now the trans makes a rattle/grind noise. Tech has direction from hotline, just waiting on them to call me to drop it off so it can be tore down. Good Luck, i've been to 3 different dealers before i got what i needed.

3rd, contact the lawyer.....

I'm assuming the trans in question is the dual clutch? I interviewed with Getrag to work on that. Dad (a Ford mechanic) told me to run far far far far away from that job because I want nothing to do with that fiasco.

From what I gather the problem years were '12, '13 and early '14. I did contact a lawyer already and waiting on call back from Ford. We shall see.

If you have all the documents, you will have a case for a buy back with Ford, depending on year, miles and condition of the car. I'd go that route if I were you. They have enhanced the '15 trans, but it's still a dual clutch and has some of the same driving characteristic. The problem is "we" as in Americans are not use to transmissions like the Focus/Fiesta dual clutch. The Europeans are use to transmissions with the dual clutch characteristics.

My woman has a '14 Fiesta that shudders so hard into third that it spills drinks in the cup holder. You can't tell me that Europeans have accepted that as 'normal'. It's a shit design and Ford knows it.

THat is due to a leaking o ring in the input shaft. They have an updated set up. I've been 15K on the latest updated parts and it's been solid. You usually have to be persistent, but once the dealer qualifies your concern they replace the seal and clutches. WHen the weather gets a little cooler, i have a grind rattle and steady state from 30 to 55 MPH and will rattle on decel all the way down to 25. They're going to tear it down and do a cost analysis to see if its cheaper to replace or repair the trans.

WHen the trans is operating normally, i have no issue with it's function. It does take a bit of getting used to, but it's live-able. It really sucks they put such a steep first gear in it, any waver in throttle input from a light causes some good confusion to the 1-2 shift...lol I hope eventually they tighten up the shifts from 2-3 and 3-4 as i feel they drag out too much.
