Hi, I just bought a 1983 Mustang with a Ford Racing 302 Long block, Vic Jr Intake, Holley Double Pumper 650 carb. When driving it home the motor stumbles under 3000 rpm. The motor has under 2000 miles on it.
What could be wrong?
Timing, slow speed jets?
Thanks

Rear drums are out of adjustment :dontknow: My suggestion is to bump the idle up a little bit to 3000 rpms . . . it wont misfire anymore!?!

Find out which cylinder the miss is on? Pull one wire at a time while its running.. (if you can feel the miss at idle) Pull the plugs out and inspect/replace em? ehhhh Basic troubleshooting would be a good start on this one.

That seems like a lot of carb unless that motor has a solid roller or awesome heads or something. When you pull the plugs to check for cracks, see what the plug looks like. Maybe it is loading up?

I should note also that I am not a Ford or a carb guy, so I might be out in left field.

Plug wire burned from being too close to the header? have you checked anything yet? that's a pretty vague question.
