need help diagnosing holley fueling issue

I finally got my new edelbrock intake manifold on my lincoln 460, as well as dropped on a holley 750 vac sec.

I dropped the distributor back in exactly the way it came out also, so my timing should be good. but this thing is dumping TONS of fuel. I know ive gotta go back and adjust the idle jets to 1.5 turns out just to be sure as I havent checked them yet. But so far the only way I can get it to start is to hold the pedal down and even then, I can see gas squirting out the top of the carb and black smoke from how rich its running.

hoping to get it running tonight. As soon as I get home im gonna pop it off, and make sure everything is set before i pop it back on, but does anyone know if there are any other settings ive got to adjust to get it to actually idle?

What's your fuel pressure set at?
its the stock fuel pump, should be pumping 6.5psi. Dont know the float level. Do all Holleys have the window screw? Ill check it when I get home. I wonder if maybe everything was gummed up. Carb may fire up when I get home after sitting with gas in it all night

every holley I have ever seen has a window screw. does it run rich only while idling or does the carb just hose the motor with fuel all the time ? Could be a stuck float as well.

well it hasnt really ran long enough to even idle. Ive been able to gas it and keep it running slightly but its definitely too rich. the floats are adjusted from the topscrews on the carb bowls right? loosen them up and adjust them til i just get a trickle out of the bowls thru the windows?

pretty much.
