Need gift advice for an accident

My friends little brother got burned quite badly after a paint can blew up in a bon fire. The whole family is quite stressed out, so I was hoping to get something that might help them cope with the situation. I'm thinking there's got to be something better than flowers. My only challenge is I can't deliver it myself as I'm out of town. His brother is maybe 9 or 10 now, and the dad is blaming himself for the whole thing. Are there any books that offer ways to deal with accidents, or anything else you guys can think of?

get him a bunch of flowers, but put them in a paint can istead of a vase...or else get one of those cookie bouquets, at least the kid could eat it

Damn I'm sorry to hear about the kid...every kid loves hot wheels go buy 30-40 of them or whatever you were gonna spend on flowers...

Thanks to the tools making fun of a 10 year old that happened to be standing next to a fire that was unaware of something that shouldn't have been in it (nobody was aware that was in there). He can't really play with toys as he can't use his hands now. I found out flowers aren't allowed, so I ended up getting a fruit basket. Everybody can use that as the whole family is pretty much sticking around the hospital room too. I found out the Wings coach dropped off some game tickets and a fully team autographed jersey, so that was pretty cool.

www.cookiesbydesign.com is great for "flower alternatives"

Wow.....I say go to the local Meijer or Walmart wherever you are. Get a pile of Hot Wheelz and send them to his room over night. It will take his mind off the pain.

As for the pops, send him a bottle. Not much will help him get over this but a bottle will at least take his mind off it for a while.

Sorry...i missed the part about the kid being 10.

Get him this dvd instead :

Wow I was suprised but it is nice to see some of the edits and updates.

I think maybe some books for him to read or some to be read to him. Also movies to watch. DVDs or a Portable players or something.
