Need fuel resistant shrink tube or wiring connector in next few days.....

Trying to help out my neighbor get his car running before he moves (next week). Trying to splice the fuel senders wires (in fuel tank --- @18-22 gauge wire). I would like to buy a 2 wire connector kit but am open to hard wiring it. Trying to locate some connectors or shrink tube that is compatible with fuel. Having no luck. Already been to Terminal Supply in Troy and McNaughton-McKay Electric Co. in Madison Heights.

Every fuel tank I've worked on had bare/non sealed conductors. I don't think having a non-sealed connection is a problem. You don't want to have wires capable of arcing/touching each other without some sort of electrical protection though.
