I am in search of some fittings that thread into the Fuel cooler on a friends 2003 GMC 2500 Duramax. It seems that at the dealership you have to buy the whole cooler, which seems like BS to me. I believe they are 1/2" NPT to 3/8" GM push-loc...

I am also wondering if a regular barbed fuel fitting will work the same as a push-loc?

Here is what it looks like:

No a regular barbed end won't work, if there's a quick connect on the other end. Sure you can lop off the female quick connect, and mount the hose right on the other end of the male quick connect. But being a straight piece without any barbs, if that thing gets any type of pressure (which it shouldn't on a return fuel line) it'll blow right off. But you could easily swap out for a barbed piece from Parker or some place, but don't skimp and use brass, diesel (bio especially) does nasty shit to brass.

Are you sure it's 1/2" NPT???

Check the length from the hose end to the larger OD. There are 2 (major) styles of fuel quick connects, I'll see what I can dig up, or fab together quickly tomorrow.

Also, whats the overall length of the piece? I know I've got whichever male quick connect end you've got, just gotta see if I've got one with something to hook up to on the other end.

Alternative is to delete the fuel cooler. The newer D-Max's are running without them. But being an '03 I'm not sure what this may affect (I'm assuming not much).
