NEED: COMPUTER for charity case

I was wondering if anyone had an old computer lying around that they want to get rid of free or cheap?

I bought a friend a computer a few years back (Windows ME) and it so full of virus's and spyware and 1/2 the programs are corrupted. It locks up intermitently.

What I'm looking for is some type of desktop. It doesn't have to be anything fancy, but it would be nice if it had a CD rom and a fairly newer operating system on it.
I have software to put on it just not an operating system.
The harddrive doesn't have to be huge, it doesn't need a gb of ram or anything like that.

Basically his mom (80's and retired) moved in with him so she didn't have to go to a nursing home and she plays solitaire and other card games. And he uses it to check his Email and go online (56k). I guess it would need a modem.

Can anyone help me out? He has a monitor, ps2 keyboard and mouse. the printer uses the old school printer cable (huge plug that goes in the computer).
 
I have a friend who works with computers all day long. I'll see if he doesn't have something or some parts to make one with laying around his office. If nothing else I can get an OS from him, but don't tell anyone that.
 
I will see what I can do for a computer. Most of the spares are extremely old and we let students take them apart and put them back together for learning about computer hardware (A+) , so I don't know if we will have anything decent, but as for an OS I have a DVD with all the windows operating systems on it.
 
Don't have any un-butchered computers. If you need it, I can burn a copy of the DVD with the operating systems anytime.
 
I am getting a new computer in my office on November 6th.
If you don't have one by then, PM me and I'll try to grab the old one for ya.
 
My friend said he doesn't have an extra one laying around work but he could fix the one she has now. My brother had 16,000 infected files on his 3 years ago and it runs as good as new now...so he can fix pretty much anything. Let me know if you want to try that.
