Need Advice

Well i went to Detroit this weekend, and me and a few buddies were cruising down a road called Gratiot, alot of fast nice cars go out there every friday and saturday for those who didnt know, well we were out there and just cruising and all of a sudden, im getting pulled over by a Roseville Cruiser. Cop writes me a Drag racing and Impeding traffic ticket. says i was racing the green car next to me. The green car happens to be my friend in his GTP with a body kit modded to hell. Here is how everything happend.

The light turned green, i took off, didnt do over the speedlimit at all, the green car next to me has a cam so it sounds really good at idle, but i paid no mind to the sounds, i had my radio up, and i took off and was in front of him driving the speed limit, cop hit me for drag racing. said i took off to fast, that racing is all about acceleration contests. Im like what the hell just happend, i didnt do a dang thing wrong, i didnt even hit any boost when leaving the intersection, i didnt go over the speedlimit, he says i disrupted traffic, what the hell did i do? Should i fight this? or should i just pay the fine and be done with it? I dont have a job anymore so paying it is going to be hard. What should i do?

Keep in mind i have a history with a street racing ticket where i was acually street racing last year but it was just a driving without due care or caution so im pretty sure ill get f-ed by the judge. What do i do?
 
just go to court, tell the truth and hope for the best. it really sucks how drag racing tickets are pretty much a judgement call by the cops

if you can afford it a lawyer would be a good idea
 
since u allready have a ticket for it you are fucked and must get a lawyer. btw i think i seen the green car.. was it like a candy green or something.. i was on my bike
 
They got me for "excessive acceleration" or some shit like that once. It was 2 in the morning, no-one out except me, and I nailed it from a green light, never going over the speed limit. I just paid the damn ticket..
 
If you accelerated hard at all off the light (weather you broke then speed limit of not) especially if his car is loud.. to a cop that is drag racing.....You can try to fight it but its gonna be you against the cop..>AND if you have already had an offernce to that nature, i have a feeling you will not have very good luck....

But hope it all works out for you!
 
I have stock exhaust, so only thing he would have heard was my blower wine, but i didnt boost so my blower didnt wine.

Wtf if you don't spin your tires or go over the speed limit why do they need to bitch about it!? It's not like you rear ended someone right off the light or something.

hahaha your buddy is a ricer fly bying homo... a friend of mine in his old ass hit the gas to pass somebody and that tool came by like a straight up ricer then started revving the motor at us at a red light... i almost spit my pop out when he did that

get a lawyer and a copy of the cruiser video...its just going to come down to costing you money. That entire city and its Judiciary system is a sham...

and good luck if it actually was in roseville. it took me 3 trips there and a bunch of bullshit to get out of a fucking LOITERING ticket, that i got while covered in grease, while fixing a truck in a rite aid parking lot......that i had made a purchase from.....the cops in roseville are straight up dicks. PERIOD
 
I think there are only a couple of dickhead cops in roachville. Most seem to be alright, but then again, I don't try to draw much attention (if I can't help it) .
 
Good luck.. Roseville has been writing BS tickets for years. If they can't get people to quit cruising Gratiot they'll make sure they get paid one way or another.
