Need advice for a buddy -

A different car, that car has been beat like a 4.00 hooker, says no rust in the add, but look at pic of wheel well

Front frame rails near the shock towers, especially the passenger side for rust.. Rear torque boxes, make sure they're not rusted or the mounting holes enlongated.
Rust around the sunroof if it has one. If there's any sign of rust be prepared to put a roof on it.
Rust, bottoms of doors and hatch as well as rockers and rear 1/4 behind the wheels.
Rust in the floors, both sides near kick panels and seat mounts.

Thanks for what to look for, I will pass it on.

I agree on the fender wells, but it doesn't look to bad. Wire wheel and some paint will take care of it. I told him to check every inch of the car.

First question you have to ask.... why is it carb'd (or gas not fuel injected, as stated in the ad) Im willing to be that the owner dropped that 302 in and doesnt know much about car care or maintenance. From the spelling, the seller also seems like a major league derp

Id look that over a with a fine tooth comb, then look it over 2 more times.

Can you get the fuel injection harness/intake/parts?

Its a 4 lug so there's that(not an issue but its $$ to swap it once your buddy gets it)

Needs paint

Needs interior cleaning

Needs that Edlebrock sticker removed from the interior lol...

Id pass unless its super clean underneath (no rust) or he can get some more money off of the asking price.

I agree. I told my friend to pass if the car isn't solid underneath. I told him before to pass on the car but he is set on taking a look at it.

Texting the guy myself to get some background information on the car.

I wouldnt text. Id talk to him in person to blindside him and confront him when you find questionable repairs/areas of the car.

Why is your buddy set on the car? Is it the price? If he can afford some extra cash up front like 3500, he can start with a much better car that will need much less.

Thats what I said too. Asked about the engine rebuild and the owner said "Built with go fasst parts."

What a joke. I was really hoping this car was solid, would love to cruise around with my buddy.

Just looking at the car..... I figure he would say something along those lines. If it were a Chevy I bet he wouldve said it has a 3/4 cam lol

No offense

What a beautiful notch! I'll pass it along to him but that is a stretch.

And don't worry about the chevy jokes, I don't care lol. There are definately some idiots out there.

Well he bought that stang, guess I didn't convince him enough. Bright side is he got it for 2500. A little elbow grease and it should pass the test. Another one on the road!
