I currently have a samsung galaxy nexus. i really like the phone, its rooted and whatnot. but the power button just stopped working and the charging port hardly ever works. so the phone is pretty much useless as i cant turn it on now if it ever dies.

I guess I can add a line and get a new phone at a discount that way and just swap numbers, but ive never done so before. or else i could just buy a new one at retail. definitely going to put the insurance on it this time.

What phone do you guys recommend? Im probably going to look at the S3, S4 or Note2. I want something with good battery and 4G

Get a iPhone 5. Haha. Just kidding. Dont want you to take 3 steps back in technology.

Note 2 is soooooo dope. So sick. Everything else is just a kids toy compared to the Note 2. Blazing fast, huge battery, wicked big super amoled screen, true multi tasking, ONLY phone on the market that can do TRUE HD SLOW MO.

New iPhone is pushing the slow mo feature on its advertisements. Claiming its the only phone that does it. The NEW iphone will do 140fps. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAA! My Note 2 does 240fps in 720p out of the box...and its been out for almost a year! If your going to go Note 2 route, I would wait unil September. Rumor has it, Samsung is dropping the Note 3 in September. It'll have 3 gigs of ram instead of 2, a snapdragon processor and most likely a bigger screen with a slimmer body. Samsung just bought a shitload of carbon fiber a few months ago, so I bet the case of the phone is going to be carbon. Sick.

Good info. We are due for upgrades too (These 2yr old phones are more than ready to be replaced). Been wondering what to look at. Thanks guys!

Which one of these phones is both fast and built like a brick shithouse (as in, not made out of cheap plastic)? I'll be looking soon too and those are really my only two criteria with battery being a distant 3rd. Don't really want another iphone, but my 4 non-S does feel quite solid. I haven't had a case on my iphone 4 in over a year and I won't go back to needing one.

Motorola has been using carbon fiber aluminum and gorilla glass. My droid RAZR has been tough as hell! The Moto X is american made and owned by an american company as well.

I like the sound of that. Do any of the motorolas compete with the S4 in terms of speed and/or battery life?

Don't get a galaxy if you're looking for sturdy.

I don't get this. The iPhone 5 does beat the S4 in many drop tests, but it's actually built out of much stronger materials than the iPhone 5. My S4 has been dropped without a problem. Granted that's not going to be true for everyone. When it comes down to it, it's all about the features at this point.

I broke my S3 screen about 2 weeks into having it. Not sure how, but it fell out of my pocket while doing some work underneath a vehicle a work ( I was laying on my back and it just slid out of my pocket onto the ground) when I got up and picked it up it screen had a big crack going through the center. It has since spidered and gotten much bigger but the phone still works ok. The battery life SUCKS. I cant even get mine to last 12 hours with minimal and I mean minimal use! Now with a year of having it, the factory charger cable stopped working and other chargers have to be inserted just riggght to get it to charge. I have insurance on the phone but the deductible is $200. What a joke, you can get the S3 for 39.00 at Walmart.
