after pulling the motor in my car and removing the oil pan i found out why i only have 12 psi oil pressure at idle. i was hoping the bearings were worn but it turns out i split #s 2 3 and 4 main caps from the main bearings right up to the cam bearings. now i have to decide weather i am going to slap together another stock block with my internals or leave the car in the garage for the summer and build a dart block motor?

i already have a dart sportsman 351 block. i dont know if i wanna miss the racing season this year though.

12psi? that aint nuttin LT1's run 8 at idle from the factory...friggin fords, doin everyhting backwards

I would do another stocker and save up for a windsor based setup.

that is what i am leaning toward. as i dont really drive much on the street (5oo to max 1000 miles a year) would it be worth half filling the coolant passages in the block? will it add any strength in the main web areas?

HARDBLOK really adds strenght the the block, but it WILL run hotter..id suggest running a main girdle, and with the hardblok, itll be fine..even though its a ford :gr_jest:

I have a standard stroke Ford Crank and 6.200 Carrillo Rods for either a Ford racing block or Dart block...Balanced and Cheap...If you want to go that way...

my dart block is a 4.125 bore and have my heart sent on a 4 inch crank with a 6.250 rod =428 cubes and wanna slap a pair of mp 70 on the bad boy

i think i have made my mind up. gonna build a low budget (hoping to stay under 3 grand) stock windsor with a cast 3.850 crank, stock length windsor rod and a 302 piston for this year. i really wanna put the car in the 9s this year on a drag radial.
