My trip to Colorado

Went to Frisco, Colorado last week for high altitude testing on one of our development bikes. Somehow, the motorcycle was the only thing we didn't have trouble with. My pickup broke down and our only laptop crashed. All in all, it was a success. But anyway, here's some shots from the trip.

Nope, no salad dressing here. Did find out here the pickup does need what the aircraft industry in the WW2 era called 'altitude compensation', better known as forced induction.

It's a Chinese motorcycle, 150cc 4 stroke 5 speed, that we're doing development on for a Euro 3/4 emissions compliant vehicle. They have a slew of bikes in the 100-150 cc range that get from 70 to 130 miles per gallon.
That one is about a 600 dollar bike. It won't wheelie, but it will do smokey burnouts!

They aren't the best of bikes, but they seem to run okay and for running around town and whatnot, they're not bad. They're a little hairy at speed since the tires aren't true and balanced, nor is there a steering dampener, but they're designed to cruise at 30-45mph. Top speed is about 55, down a hill, with a tail-wind, and a midget driving.

For example, a twin of the yellow bike that came in didn't have stops for the gear selector in the trans, and would go directly to 5th gear from first when you shifted up a click. You really get what you pay for, but for a fun screw-around or pit-bike, they're not bad.

I work for ElectroJet in Brighton. Right now a small start-up company. We are developing small engine fuel injection systems for the Asian motorcycle market for now, with many other plans and ideas floating around for the future.
