My Trans Update

Sooooo, it seems I broke the Inner shaft (among other things) :D So i get a new hardened one, more clutch and steels and a new converter :D only a 24-2500 stall though, nothing too crazy. I might go 11's afterall :lol:
 
Ehh, I figured it would be only fair until I got it on the dyno again. When I got it that night he was telling me that he couldn't get the car to shift right on the dyno, because 3rd was slipping, so he was only getting 9ish lbs of boost on the dyno, but it would hit 13psi if he held the trans in 2nd gear. So i figure it will make around 400rwhp once it's back on the dyno the trans is fixed and the sparkplug wire is handled. The 400rwhp is still pretty much a reality, the dyno just doesn't show it.
 
You will love the raised stall Joe, but you'll wish you had put more in it very shortly. :lol:

what gear is in the car?

Well good and bad news. Good you are upgrading and bad because you were forced too.

Hey, it does make 401hp...at the fly :D Plus it's an automatic w/ A/C, stock Clutch fan and all accessories. I guarantee it will make 400 at the wheels, it's just not on a piece of paper right now...350 is.

Yea, I could've avoided this if I shifted the car myself, instead I let it shift from 4th to 3rd on the freeway, bad mistake...

Those OD bands are weak. You shouldn't go into OD if you are on the loud pedal. Hell even stock 5.0 would eat them. I smoked a couple in my Dad's old car.

I didn't have the stock Kevlar OD band. It had a redline OD band, I foget what it was made out of, but it wasn't Kevlar. I thought it would be fine...guess not.
 
Good news! My trans is all done and he's just waiting for the converter which will be here tmw :D So i'll be able to make it to Lapeer this Sunday :D It might rain though:(
 
So just by bolting on that kit you (or should) gained basically 3 seconds off your time you are saying? That is crazy :icon_mrgr (wasnt your previous best like a 14.2 qtr)

Lol, I dunno. I don't remember saying that I would run 11's, but anything is possible :D Plus the car is making 10-12 lbs of boost. Now it will also have a 2500 stall converter. Should be low 12's if not 11's, then again my car is a GT and weighs more, but it's still only 3100lbs.
