O.k., maybe new isn't the right term:)

I got a 1951 Ford F1. I'm kind of an idiot, it wasn't in as good as shape as I was thinking from the pics and description I got from the seller, but I still got it after meeting him in Lima, Ohio. It drives pretty sweet, did 65-75 all the way back and got 20+ mpg(350/350). It needs new side glass, I'll pry go with the one piece and eliminate the vent. Needs a gas gauge and the turn signals hooked up. I took the side pipes, off. They weren't hooked up and I'm not a big fan of stuff that doesn't work. Here are some pics:

Cool truck, but 91Trunk is going to move this thread because it's in the wrong forum.

Why would this be different than anyone else getting new vehicle?

As for the truck and the gas gauge, make sure there is a voltage reducer if you are using the original gauges. The originals were designed for 6 volts. As mentioned, if you don't have A/C, keep the vents. It looks like a nice truck.

It's got some issues up close, but it looks like it'll be a solid driver. Dude I got it from put 2k miles on it since july. I'll be using 12 volt gauges....it's got a temp, oil pressure, and voltage gauge right now, gotta find a spot for the fuel gauge.

THATS AWESOME!!!! my dad is in the market right now for a late 40 early 50s chevy or gmc truck. old trucks rocks!

I found this one on the hamb board, I think there are a couple of really clean gm trucks for sale there now. Mostly down in Texas and out west, and all more than I wanted to spend:)

I'm pissed right now. At myself and at the dude I got it from. The little things that need to be done keep adding up, I can deal with that. But I went to register it today, and come to find out he NEVER REGISTERED IT when he got it in July! He got it from a guy in Tennessee. So he has the Tennessee title signed over to him and the paperwork for the Kentucky title. I've never bought a car from out of state, and haven't bought one from a private seller in a long time. I didn't read the Tenn. title close enough, and didn't realize that where we filled it out was under re-assignment by DEALER. They pointed that out at the secratary of state, along with the fact that the other paperwork he gave me was an APPLICATION for a title in Kentucky. So I called him, and I think he was somewhat genuinely confused about the process, but how do you drive a truck for 2k miles over 3 months and never register it??? He's not an idiot either, normal car guy that met me with his wife, kid and dog. The thing is, to get a title in Kentucky he needs to get it inspected! Which is why I think he never did it, he just figured he'd sell it and let the next guy deal with it. The other option, which is what I think he I working on now, is to get a new title from the previous owner(who is the last registered owner) and sign that over to me. If it has to go back to get inspected, I'm gonna take it down there and leave it and get my money back. The dude is selling evereything he has and moving out to Arizona November 1st, so I kind of feel for him cuz it's pretty hectic right now, but come on!!!
