My New toy... (mini bike)

37!??!! Nah, I think MAYBE 33 with a strong tailwind. Still got the timeslips? My best was 46.4 at the 1/8th still accelerating. They wouldn't give me a full 1/4 time. Bastards.

 That's awesome! Maybe I'll eventually decide to build one. The GF said she wants one for sure. :badass:

Matt -

John said you have the same Honda 5hp that I have. Is yours a GC160? He also thought your was off a power washer as mine is? If so how the heck did you figure out the Throttle linkage off the Carb. Can you take some pics or maybe I can swing by to see. Has to be an easy solution.:headscrat

All my sweet parts I need to finish (other than the throttle and Foot Pegs) will be delivered on Friday.

John I forgot to grab your Chain Link cutter. :buds:

On the RH side behind the pull start was a bracket and a lever, the lever determined the rpms of the engine. I took off the lever and left the bracket and got rid of the linkage. On the Lh side there was an arm that went from linkage on the carb down to almost the base of the engine block that if you pushed in would open the butterfly. So i put a screw and waster thru the metal bracket on the rh side to hold the cable and then ran the bare cable across to the arm on the lh. I'll get some pictures when i get home, hell i just ride it over:thumbsup:

Next season i'm going for the minibike land speed world record.... because if it doesn't exist i can set it..
and here is where the lever used to be, there was an bolt hole so i used it to hold the cable. right after this the shielding ends and its just open cable.

Then on the other side there is this arm that moves back and forth and is connected to the linkage on/in the carb so i just hooked it to that and have a spring pulling it out to keep it shut. the arm was already connected and halfway convenient so i used it. (tilt your head right, forgot to rotate)

Cool project! You need to do one like this..... A friend of mine I used to work with had this for sale a while ago. He was asking like $700 I think? I don't know if he ever sold it or not. He weighed around 350lbs and told me he was too scared to stay in it till' it maxed out.
Yes, this one goes WELL over 35mph!! (440 snowmobile engine).
