My new DD

My Ram lease goes back friday so i've been in the market for something 3/4 and diesel. After searching everything from vehix to autotrader to craigslist day in and day out i finally found something that suited my fancy. picked up an '02 F-250. it has the 7.3 in it and the truck only has 70k miles. i haven't had a chance to really really detail it yet but i did get the sides tinted the night i brought it home. i'll get better pics as i messed up a setting on my camera when i took these and didn't realize till i loaded them...anyways....

my old ram (if someone is looking for a ram pick this one up, it is cleaner than new!)

I'm going to put platinum on the windshield when i have a chance and also tint the clearance lights and taillights lightly when i have the time as well. HIDs will be shortly after!
:woot:

what did you pay for it? i am in the same boat, looking for a 01-03 7.3 4dr 250 or excursion

Paid $17,500 for it. a little more than i wanted to spend but it had half as many miles as any others i had found, and i bought it from the original owner which was a plus. he kept it in good shape, a few dings here and there and the front bumper has a small cut in it, but it's used and i'll fix the small stuff as i go. 5" turbo back exhaust is first on the list though

first on the list should be a bully dog switch chip. i had one on a 03/7.3/4x4/ext cab..........holy shit. what a difference. i had it set at stock, +50 +75 and +100+ on the 50 setting after towing a car to norwalk, it went 15.99. rolling into it. flat pedal would just spin. on the 100+ setting it would bury the 30lb vdo boost gauge.

nice truck, same color as my old one

yeah i really like this general color in large trucks (third truck i've had that is this color), it's easy to keep 'em looking clean (not that i have a problem with that  ) I just don't want to make some retarded power and burn down the trans, a friend of mine has one with turbo mods and a bunch of stuff and he burned up a few trans' with his on "kill" until he finally got a good trans in it. i'm just looking for better fuel economy since my ram got a killer 12-13mpg city

better picture of it in my driveways

I thought I was the only one  My '06(qc sport 4x4) was in the same range, if not worse. 11-14 overall, I think I almost hit 16 on an all freeway trip to Chicago. Guys that I worked with all said they got mid teens at least. They said they were doing the math, but I don't think too many of them were math majors:)

My '09 gets 15-20, I'm pretty happy with that...It is a rc with 2wd, but it does have 4.10 gear and a higher stall.

yea i usually got 10-13tops with it  it just barely has 24K miles on it and it seems to be getting 14 now! wtf. if i had a week of moving boats around at the shop it would be under 10mpg easily

For real. I had mine for just about 34k, and doing my back and forth to work driving it was a consistent 12mpg.

It looks like the '09s are a lot better, with more power. I love the 250 though!

Same reason my dad upgraded to a diesel. He was averaging like 13 in his Hemi as well. Nice lookin truck man.

yeah i was really looking for a cummins as they get the best MPG out of all the diesels it seems, and this 7.3 powerstroke is at the bottom of the mpg range, but the previous owner told me he would get 14-15 city. so i'll see. i've only gone through a little over a 1/4 tank with 100 miles or so on it.

either way, i suppose it will get the same MPG whether i'm driving to work or pulling a 24ft wakesetter

well the ram went back friday, i properly took some of the tire life with me  I have a video on my bosses camera. it was a pretty decent one, i rolled out of it john force style all the way down orchard lake road

Finally got the windshield tinted on the F-250 with some 35% platinum film. also put 15% over the very back window to darken it up just a tad more. and saturday after work i pulled the seats for a solid interior cleaning. it smelled like smoke still a little bit from the past owner, but i took care of that

Definitely a nice truck, i always liked that color. I had my gsxr-750 painted in that similar color, Viper gray.

Thanks!

yea this is the third truck i've owned that is this color. it's nice on these large trucks because it's easy to keep them looking good even if they're a little dirty. i still have to detail the exterior of this truck when i get another slow day or an evening to myself. i already claybarred and waxed it a few times. i'm probably going to take some 1500 wet on a DA to knock down some of the larger scratches and small imperfections and go over it with some 3000 wet on a DA and then wheel it all out to perfection. although it will probably take me atleast an entire day if not longer!

in due time though. i have all the time in the world to keep cleaning this thing
