My halo bar in in fox looks to low to me?

i am installing a S&W cage in my 85 mustang hatch. I am at the point of installing the halo bar and when tacked up level, it looks to low to me. I am going to install my seat tomorrow and put my helmet on to check clearance. Anybody know the minimum distance required from helmet to halo? It sits level 4 1/2in from the roof.

I thought your main hoop looked low when i first saw the pics of it. I think as long as your helmet clears you should be okay to pass tech. Getting an NHRa cert might be different.

i think you can have up to 6 degrees leaning back and still pass a NHRA cert.

Are you talking about the halo bar or the main hoop? I have a 6° lean on my main hoop. I need to know if a 3° incline on the halo bar from the main hoop toward the windshield. I will upload pics of my situation later when I get home from work.

Both cars at my house have the halo at 3 1/2 inches. I think your fine at 4 1/2. Ive seen lower from pro shops.

Alright, I re-tacked the halo position. It is 3° incline and the windshield portion is 3½in from roof. feels much better.
