My 82 Mustang Project Build

My goal is to build a nice street and strip car. The car ended up needing more work than I thought when I first bought it. I did not notice the rusted frame rails when I first brought it home. It has now become a ground up rebuild. Here are some pictures of my very slow progress.

Hey I know, I have been following your build on the foureyedpride web site. Hopefully soon I will have it back on the road and we could meet up at Milan and run them against each other. I used to have a 93 mustang that ran low 10's in the quater mile, not looking to go that fast with this one.

Thanks for the positive input. I have put lots of hours in and I have lots of hours left to put in. I am hoping to have it back on the road by spring of 2011. I will keep updating this thread with the progress that I make. Won't be alot through the winter, don't have heat in the garage. I will use the winter to collect parts and put them on in the spring.

I'd love to run low 10's (shooting for 9's on the bottle). Gonna do a few upgrades this winter. What drivetrain/suspension are you going with?

I am thinking of putting a 331 Stroker engine and a T5 trans. I have a 8.8 rearend and I am putting a 3:73 gear in it. No front swap bar and moving battery to the back. I had a supercharge 302 with a T5 trans and racing clutch in my 93. I had over ten grand into the engine and fuel system in that car. I am budgeting myself around 25 grand for this car, that includes a custom paint job. I am assuming the paint job that I want will cost around 7 grand. I have been talking with Barnett High Performance about the engine and trans. I can get them both for around 6 grand, ready to bolt in.

Had to fix some frame rot on mine too. Ever think about a 351w stroker? Keep us updated on the progress.

No, I never thought about that engine. Do you know someone who is selling one and a deal?

I thought someon on here had one. Think it was a pretty much a race type set-up. You should be able to build one from all the stuff people are selling on here. lol

oo oo ooooo i have an 82 as well!! but mine is a merc. looks like youve been makin some good progress. are you keeping the barney colored calipers??
