My 5yr old got attact by 2 dogs!!

My rott growled one time and i slapped the fuck out of him.

 That's hilarious. So true, same with our dogs.
My mother-in-laws lab will sit right by the table with her nose about 2" from her plate when she's eatting. and if she gets up the dog will eat whats on her plate. Sit's on the couch and won't let people sit down. I get so aggrivated with her dog and the fact she lets her dog do that I don't want the dog at my house, but really it's not the dogs fault it's my mother-in-laws fault. if my dog sat 2" from my plate i would close fist punch him right in the head. My dogs don't come no where near the dinner table.

IDK. I'd sue the shit out of her just because she's a f'n retard for not controlling her dogs...............
Yes. +1!

Michigan has a one bite rule. Typically, the dogs are allowed one bite, then they are declared a "dangerous animal". Once declared a dangerous animal insurance will not cover them and the owner is personally liable. Actually it's now strict liability, any even = liability.
Because this LIKELY to be the dogs first bite, her home owners insurance will cover this incident.

Unfortunately the injuries do not look that serious, go to the DR, get a ton of pics, have the DR document Everything, including emotional damage.

If you want to contact me, send a PM and I'll help you out as much as I can.

it's not a million dollar case is what I'm saying!

Look at it like this. If you DO NOT SUE HER, how long before this happens again? Because it will. The money will come from her insurance company.

Seriously, would anyone on here complain if you sued her? NO.

Any MM HATES lawyers.. trust me I know. I heard attorneys on here help you out as much as possible, then treat you like crap.

you know i'm just busting your balls. i'm in complete agreement with you. a lawsuit will wake the owner(s) up and hopefully prevent this from happening again.

I wasnt going to correct her since she quoted one of the best movies of all time.

Hey douchebags, I changed it...cause OJ said MM is always perfect and always right. So I made the lyrics plural so it would fit.
I know the lyrics assbags!

"Put him in a body bag Johnny!"

I'd be fucking PISSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I feel bad for your little girl. I hope she doesn't become afraid of dogs because of this. :shake:

Yeah hopefully she won't be afraid of dogs now...

I hope she will be ok. Good luck, and what kind of dogs?

X2

Dude that sucks, I'm afraid once the law is involved and they tell you to stay away you need to comply. Now a few months form now :dontknow:

Yeah no shit... I can see that happening

Of course they are but you can't have a dog that bites someone who is walking by, I don't care what they're eating. We had a yard full of kids all the time. With all our dogs before or after him anyone could've walked up and took that bone out of their mouth, this beagle was crazy.(great hunter though)

Another example out of many: If my dad came home from work late and we starting eating without him the dog wouldn't let him in the back door. He would growl with teeth showing.

We always had beagles and I've never seen anything close to this. The best we could figure was his blood line was overbred.

I must of read it wrong i though he was grabbing for the bone SORRY

Thanks to you, I keep running that stupid Karate Kid song through my head today, damn you....

There was just a slide show on WNEM about the most agressive dog breeds. I found it interesting.

1) Dachshund
2) Chihuahua
3) Jack Russel Terrier
4) Akita
5) Australian Cattle Dog
6) Pit Bull
7) Beagle
8) English Springer Spaniel
9) Border Collie
10) German Shepherd

Very sorry to hear about your daughter. Very sad.

Why is everyone coming down on labs? Not all labs are mean or stupid. Anytime somebody on here says a pit bull is a viscous breed, people get very defensive. It's all in how you train and socialize your dog.

Notice the Pug is absent.

There's two ways of looking at this I guess.

One: It was 'just' a dog bite. I'm sure everyone has been bit by a dog at some point in your life. Those were just nips, it could have been much worse. Sue the owner? Maybe if your kid had some scars on her face or something. It sucks that your daughter got bit but she'll get over it. Hopefully if the dog is a problem, animal control will handle it the right way.

Two: KILL THAT FUCKING DOG OMG SUE THE OWNERS. I can't believe the people saying they'd simply go over and kill the dog. Hey, you're mad, you might do it. But some of you are dog owners. Imagine if your dog (as friendly as it might be) happened to bite a kid, not very bad at all. Who knows, maybe the kid poked your dog or stepped on its tail. Either way, would you want someone coming over and killing your dog? Get real.

My Uncle has a Jack Russel and that little bastard can be a dick sometimes.

lists of aggression for dogs are subjective, i feel bad that the little girl was hurt in this situation, but i agree with mdhmi on his line of understanding and questioning...
there are 2 lessons here:

#1 dogs shouldn't be left un-attended, period
#2 children shouldn't be left un-attended by adults

It is partly how you raise ANY breed of dog and partly genetics. Because labs and many other breeds are being over bred by BYB (back yard breeders) as Al pointed out. They are having more temperament issues.

Agreed. Any list is subjective and that is why bite statistics are no longer released by breed, because often they are misidentified. Dogs should not be unattended or running lose. I also don't think children should be unattended with any dog.

I feel for the child and hopes she makes a full recovery. I think the blame lies with the dog owner, not the dogs. It is the owners responsibility to maintain their dogs!

They wouldn't have to come over to kill my dog for biting someone. I would have absolutely no trouble doing it my self. and that is getting real. My dog would be down at the vet being put to sleep that day. Depending on the severity of it I might even do it myself. poking the dog, steping on it's tail the dog can move.
My kids have fallen countless times on my dogs off the couch and bed while the dog it laying there. Sometimes they yelp, but they get up and move somewhere else. Never once tried to nip, or bite them. My 200lb rott sleeps right off the side of the bed by me. I have gotten up and stepped on him a bunch of times. He just gets up and moves. When i get back in bed he comes back and lays back down by the bed. Never once tried to bite me.

It's all about how you bring them up. If your dog knows who's the dominate one in the house hold then there's not a issue.

I think the Lab Breed is best represented in the Leader Dogs For The Blind Organization, the fact that the primary breed used is the Lab says a whole lot about how great these dogs are, but Neglect and Lack of Attention and Proper training are all of the Owners Responsibilty and some people dont deserve to own dogs.
I hate to see people get dogs and leave them outside Neglected and not payed attention to the way they should be, the dogs would be better off with owners who Love & Care for them as Companions.
In this case here with your 5 year old baby girl it is Obvious that this would never of happened if the dogs owner was a responsible one, the owner need a lesson and you daughter deserves retribution.
Let us all know what comes of this in the end.
Too bad your daughter will always have the scars to remember this.
