when they came out i was priced them thinking if I could get a base v8 in the mid 20's i'd get one...but 35k??? Shit, I just went and bought a viper instead.

ahh my post didnt make any sense. Basically i figured if they were in the mid 20's i would have bought one...thats how much $ i'd pay for one.

I spoke with a 2010 6 speed SS owner today and I noticed he had been to the drag strip (shoe polish #s on the window). He said he ran a 13.1 while spinning out of the hole. That seems a bit fantastic for a traction limited run. I didn't get the MPH.

For that much $$ I would want something faster than a 4th gen or LS2 GTO

I love mine. The car is whole different beast compared to the Fourth gen's. Blind spots can be gotten used to with proper mirror adjustments. I've even got a car seat in the back for my 1 1/2 year old son.

Ive ridden in a loaded SS and its a damn nice car. They did their homework on it for once. Yes they do ride better than fourth gens, but seriously... doesnt take much and you have to consider the additional 500 or so pounds dampening it.

I continue to have mixed feelings about the car though. I would love a V6 for a daily driver, but for a hobby vehicle (that i would modify) i dont see myself ever being interested in one.

Have a V6 for a rental this week. Looking at the tires, it's obvious someone else before me got sideways. Needless to say, I might have to hit the TC button and see how the D.I. V6 does.
