My 2006 C6 Dipped~

Everyone has a glossy car, how many do you see flat black few and far between. Something different

Ya, there's a reason for that, lol. As long as you like it I guess.
It seems like a new trend, everyone online goes nuts over "the dip", nothing stays chrome, polished, machined, shiny........we spend all this time trying to shine up our cars for a reason, no? I guess I just don't get it, flat paint looks like backyard spray jobs to me, sure it peels right off, at least plasti-dip gives you an out, lol.
The car itself looks great, paint isn't my taste.

I think it looks pretty good, I have a few questions if you don't mind.

1. I know that it peels right off, but does it do anything to the finish below?
2. Where can you find the colors available?
3. Will it cover small imperfections in the current painted surface Or highlight them more Small dings/scratched
4. Does your buddy do this for others, If so how much does something like that run?

Only color that seems to leave shit on the paint is white.. So you lay 3 coats of gun metal down first
Dipyourcar.com has all the paints they sell, anything else you have to mix and match your own and the forums can help you with that.
if you layer it heavy enough it will fill those imperfections over.
He usually charges 300-500 his mats. I will take pix of his job saturday.. and a walk around video.

For $300-500 I'm very interested in bringing my bird to him! I want it to be matte gunmetal something like this color

That looks badass too. Anybody know if I would have any issues if I had an unpainted fiberglass hood dipped? The one I just got is primered only.

I have been asked for more rides by girls after the dip job then i ever had prior to it. guess your wrong bub.:hahano:

It's the Batman Effect. Flat paint makes you look dangerous. Like a tribal armband tattoo :D

It looks sweet! Have the flat black haters ever seen Simon from American idol's flat black Ferrari. Looks SICK!

When you say white leaves stuff on the paint, what kind of stuff?

I may have to get a hold of your buddy. I'd like to see what my silver coupe would look like flat pearl white.

The white dip, leaves a nasty haze on the paint. that is a bitch to get off. So if you lay down gunmetal as a base coat and then do white over it.. You wont have that haze to worry about to clean off.

Who should I contact about having something like this done? You can pm me if you don't want it out there for some reason.

Thanks, Bryan
