Mustangs.... Fox VS 94/95

The reason behind the Mustang is the availability of performance parts and I'm a ford guy. Plus I want a v8 grunt after having fwd v6 cars thus far. I was also thinking of a Miata but the wife says it is a little too :hay: I don't like camaros, not sure I want a high rev v6 car since it's what I already have.

I also don't want to do a motor swap/rebuild. Just a nice clean chassis to do wheel/tire, brakes, suspension, cage, minor performance upgrades.

As much as I like my Fox body, I'd start looking down South for a clean SN95. I like the '99 up for looks, but it's a balance between budget and preferences.
The Mod motors have lots of stuff available, but the early ones had more complexity as to what fits what. Get it right, and they make enough power to have fun and stay together, and I think that's what you're after. Good luck with the search!! Keep us posted!!

I'm a sucker for the 94-98 Saleens....

yes i agree on those as well, i also love the cobra with that saleen wing.

I agree tho the interior is nicer in the 94+ cars thats for sure, just dropped $400 on new/replacement parts from 5.0resto for my notch to fix everything that was broken or cracked lol

If you can find a clean fox, with the correct suspension mods i think its a great car.

To find a clean fox - go south. Same with an SN95.. Find an unmolested 5spd Hatch or Notchback and enjoy it. Either way you're going to have a blast. I personally would stick with a SBF/5-liter car but that's my preference. As stated earlier, there really isn't anything that I cannot fix with a basic set of tools and at the track that is important.

Currently I've run my 93 SHO on the track a few times. But its automatic and that part is a bit boring. But it is a rust free Florida car. Rust free is what I'm after. I wont deal with rusted racecar at all.

Just saw this ad in my new issue of grassroots motorsports magazine.

1994 mustang gt. Hpde prepared. Maximum motorsports equipped. Cobra brakes. Kumho rain and Hoosier dry slicks. Well sorted and reliable. Street driven. Ready for track days. 607-237-0901. $8300.

Depending on condition and work done it might be worth it. Maybe his flexibility as well.

I've had 3 fox bodies but I'm partial to the 99-04's ever since Todd Reiter built his wife the New Edge. To me the lines are much nicer and no need to mini tube lol. Parts are easy to find for any 79-04 mustang even the newer S-197's are getting easier to find parts for. Don't for get the IRS for the 99-04's too

This. Although I'll go a little farther and say any fox (GT, LX, Notch) that is clean = winning in my book.

personally hate the 94-98 cars, only looks good if its a cobra and all cleaned up, notchback or 99-04 car is where its at!
