Need help!! Im removing the front A-arms on my 02 Mustang to replace the bushings. I got the drivers side off no problem, moved to the passenger side, everything was moving along nicely and of course the very last bolt I need to remove is seized to the bushing sleeve. I removed the nut and when I hit the bolt with my impact it just spins the entire sleeve in the bushing.

There's no room to hit it with a bfh. Ive tried everything I can think of. Any suggestions from you guys?

No room for any of that how the bolt is oriented.

Not the best pic. The bolt enters in on the right side.

might have to sneak a sawzall in there CAREFULLY or have someone pry the ever-loving fuck out of the control arm to put some tension against the sleeve

^ agreed, see if you can get a blade in where the rubber is on either side of the arm

worst case, use a torch, set the bushing rubber on fire, then heat the sleeve orange and knock the bolt out

I recommend a having water/fire extengisher nearby, and you will need to clean soot off above the pocket , and, use a new bolt

Ill try burning the bushing completely off tomorrow.

One side of the bushing is pretty burnt up from me trying to hit the sleeve with the torch. I didnt leave it on enough to get the sleeve orange though.

best way would be to use a cut off wheel or sawzall to cut each side on the inside of the mounting bracket and the control arm should come right out....way less messy... if you need help with that let me know, done it a few times. 12345.jpg

I found a set of used a-arm bolts so im cutting that bitch out tomorrow! No more playing around with the torch lol.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Had the same issue. Used Pete's suggestion with a big ass cut-off wheel. 2 cuts inside the a-arm.

Good luck!!

I got the A arm out. Used the sawzall at first then switched over to a cut off wheel which was much faster.

Thanks for the suggestions!
